The Backyard Discovery Oakmont Cedar Swingset has some really neat features that make it great for smaller yards but keep the kids playing all day long. First, the raised fort has a colorful awning and front wall with white trimmed window to make a cool clubhouse-like area up top. Down below there is another fort, with front wall, window and real door! The side snack window has built-in bench just outside. Out on the swing beam there are two belt swings and an acrobat bar for plenty of swinging and clowning around. A standard stepladder gets the kids to the upper fort and the eight-foot speedy slide zips them back down again.

My husband used two weeks to install it. However, he just spent about two hours some day in these two weeks. It looks nice after finishing. One piece of wood was broken during installation, but others are fine.

It is good.

I bought this item a mouth ago and i'm very glad I did it. The delivery was very fast and the installation very easy. It takes about 10 hours to assemble.

Great purchase

I would recommend this to anyone. Our 2 year old granddaughter loves it. The only issue when building it was one of the boards was warped and I had to adjust the holes. I took someone's advice and laid out all the boards before I started building and it made the build a lot easier.  I had two cordless drills one for the screws and one for the star bit and that saved from having to switch back and forth. Again I would recommend this without any reservations.

My almost 2 year old really enjoys this swing set.  It’s definitely for younger children, and we will have to upgrade at some point years down the line but this is perfect for the time being.  He has an infant sister so she will enjoy it in the future as well.  My son can safely manage the ladder and slide himself.  We ended up adding a bucket swing as he’s not safely swinging in a regular swing quite yet.  My husband built it himself over the course of a few days of picking away at it.  A few pieces did split but he was able to fix them with wood glue— these are pieces that did not compromise the safety of the structure.  It’s a very solid, nice quality swingset, and I highly recommend it.

My son in law put it together himself. Was easy to install, the instructions were easy to follow. Has a solid construction. My grandson thinks it is awesome he loves it.

good size for a average size backyard

I bought this swing set for our backyard.  Our grandson loves it!  He gets to play in the playhouse and use his imagination, serving us "waffles" and "pizzas."  He will swing for 1/2 hour at a time, if I let him!  He also loves the slide.  It has been great for the neighborhood kids, too.  I did have a board crack and an anchor bend, but I called the company, and they replaced them very quickly.  I did think that the set would be sturdier, so it would last him through his growing up years.  Our 9-year old neighbor is too big for it.  The swing creaks too much when she tries to use it, since she is already too heavy for it.

When putting it together yourself expect thousands of pieces to install the playground.
ItIt took me and my husband three days to put it together I suggest paying the fee for the company to build it for you very complicated when doing it on your own.

Well I waited two weeks for a nice day out to assemble. Made sure I had all the pieces and was missing the first main beam on the list. I could have had it up yesterday. When I called to get the board I need I was on hold for 30 minutes. Also I was told you have to seal the wood or it voids the warranty in the future. So there’s more time and money I have to spend on it. Most of the boards are bowed and some of them are cracked. I actually regret buying this. I can’t believe the first board on the list was missing and it’s one of the main boards. I hope this helps someone.

You get what you pay for.

Yes we read the instructions as we put it together over two days.....it would have been great/helpful/important if the instructions would be more detailed....like telling you to be sure you had the holes at the top of the board at installation or put the board 1/3 of way down because you still need to put more boards on the frame....we also ran out of some of the screws. the tarp has a rip in it upon receipt - need to get a replacement.  This is not walmart's fault....the kids will have tons of fun/memories on the swingset and wont notice or care about the things that drove us crazy

the instructions need to be more detailed

After owning this for 1 yr. its not holding up. One of the main legs ( beam) has long cracks and is not steady as we thought it would be for a play set of 500.00 .   My grand child is less then 50 lbs.the only one playing on it and that's only on a few weekends out of the summer. I'm very disappointed in this purchase,I would not buy this again.
