These lids are great! I don't can but I do use the mason jars for pantry storage, including soup mixes made up ahead, so using these lids is so much better than keeping the canning lids on the jars. It's nice to just have a lid to unscrew instead of messing with taking off the two pieces of canning lids.

Great lids that seal very well. I bought them for my wide mouth shorty jars. I didn't want to have to mess with the two-piece tin lids that come with those jars.
I would recommend a toothbrush to clean the lids properly as food can get stuck.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I was tired of reusing old and sometimes rusty mason jar covers once I opened my preserves. These do the trick while you are eating the contents. Unfortunately, I will still have to use the metal lids and seals when making my pickles and jams.  I don't think you would ever get a seal with these pksstic ones.

These lids are just what the Caption ordered. I addition to canning, we use mason jars for storage, such as pasta, spices, pickled eggs and many other uses. In the past we've used standard metal canning lid and rings for sealing our pickled eggs, but the vinegar brine is corrosive and causes rust. These Ball plastic lids eliminate that problem and they seal well, and we've experienced no leakage at this time.

Great For Many Uses

My new favorite way to store leftovers in my fridge. Wide mouth jars have an opening large enough to fit my hand through for when I'm washing dishes. These plastic lids don't rust or come apart when you open the jar. Two quart (64oz) jars are perfect.

These lids are genius

These lids are quite wonderful. I store water in 32 ounce mason jars (I think I have about 30 or so) so that the chlorine will get out of the jar by the time I drink 3 of those a day so they rotate out after 10 days or so (chlorine causes prostate cancer I'm pretty sure though I potentially could be wrong about that). These lids don't appear to leak. I wash one jar a day as I add one lemon to the water as I eat my breakfast and eat oatmeal with bananas and/or sweet cherries and it goes well with those. Helps my gout if I have gout which I may since my knees have been hurting some and I had been eating a lot of sardines which have purines that cause gout sometimes. Lemon water and tart cherry juice is supposed to help with that or tart cherries. I couldn't find tart cherries but they have tart cherry juice at Walmart which I drink 8 ounces a day along with 4 ounces of concord grape juice so it isn't so tart and dilute with water (about 30 ounces of water)

We use these for liquids stored in mason jars. They do an excellent job of not leaking. I really like that they're only one piece so there is no annoying seal to take apart and wash. I wash them on sanitize in the dishwasher and they still look new. I'm very happy with them.

These lids are the best for a good seal

They seem to work fine on Ball brand jars. Both pints and quarts. You need to make sure you screw them on tightly. But I had trouble getting it to close on a Ball jelly jar. There seemed to be a little moisture coming out when I shook it. I also tried it on an Atlas brand jar, but it leaked on that one. I have not tried it on other brands yet. They are definitely better than the white caps. But now I have a bazillion of the white ones and don't know what to do with them? Perhaps the company should let us trade them in and get a discount on the new brown ones? Ball, are you listening?

This review is for Ball One-Piece Leak-Proof Wide Mouth Storage Lid, Plastic:

I was expecting a better product from the Ball Company'.  I am disappointed.  The  lid is a Polypropylene plastic lid.   There is a groove that the top edge of the jar fits into.  There are no additional seals like a silicone ring or piece that the top edge of the glass jar compresses to for a watertight seal.  
    I added water to the har and put on the lid and inverted the jar.   Guess what happened.  IT LEAKED.   I suspect the others in the box will leak too.  I cannot consider the product a good value.

Absolute garbage!  I bought these for my cold brew coffee. I've never had my coffee mold before bad seal. I was so excited to be able to use one piece lid instead of having to add the seals like my other ones do clearly these need seals false advertising. Don't  keep things fresh. Waste of money. I regret purchasing these.  Wasted a lot of quality coffee on false promises.
