Lid does not seal securely, requiring extra effort to stay on.

The foot print of half a gallon of storage is smaller than expected, yet very stable. The straight sides take up less space than a round bowl or vase would waste. The lid is not quite as tight fitting as desired, but easily fixed with a piece of plastic wrap. Great buy.

I needed an tight airtight container  for  sugar. This container  fits 5 lbs of sugar almost exactly.  I know the quality  is good because it is a Ball product. I also purchased a 1 gallon jar that holds 10 pounds of flour nicely. I'm pleased with the purchase and will buy more of these containers for food storage in the future.

Ordered six Ball Stack %26 Store Half-Gallon Glass jars to use for cereals, dry rice, etc in my pantry. I read all of the reviews and a few people mentioned the glass breaking easily. I have found that the glass in these jars is thick and the glass tops have seals and fit tightly. Also, when I was unwrapping %26 unpacking the jars, I actually dropped one on my tiled floor in the kitchen and it bounced. And guess what, it did not break, crack, chip or anything. It was still just like new. I am very pleased with my purchase of these particular jars and plan to order more! I don't have anything negative to say about the jars themselves (except maybe that they are rather expensive), and they look really nice on my pantry shelves and it is great to be able to see exactly which each jar contains.

Excellent Storage Jars

I have been switching to glass storage containers and I love these for flour sugars coffee and baking supplies. The seal is great the glass is thick. These are heavy but lovely.

Beautiful glass storage

I will buy more of these. Nice quality storage  container for the kitchen pantry. I am very pleased with this purchase. I plan to maximize storage space in my small pantry and this glass container with silicone seal should be a good start. Lid is not too tight.

Quality Glass Food Storage Container

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I broke mine and was happy to be able to replace it. It's the perfect size and look I needed.

The Worse design! Won't seal! Lead is worthless. Clunky and heavy yet won't seal! Says stackable but anything you put on top of it slides off! Cause top is chunky and slick and won't stay sealed so lid isnt flat/blanced, so anything on top slides off. Lid falls off easily so don't move it, itll pop off and break. 
Such a horrible design. I'd return but unfortunately hubby threw away the interior paper which had the barcode on it.

The Worse design! Won't seal! Lead is worthless

If you're prepared to stack bricks on top of the lids, they'll seal great. It's like the lids are protesting gravity. I returned them, and bought good ol' fashioned Ball mason jars instead. If it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Expect Disappointment

Product description clearly saying says it comes with a set of 3. Only comes with 1 so this is false advertising. Amazon is just better.

False Advertising

Lid does not seal, pops up constantly. Utterly useless as a storage container. Not defective, just a terrible design, I'm shocked due to the relatively reliable quality of Ball as a manufacturer. Do not buy.
