When I showed up at the local Wal-Mart and the associate person pulled my order it was noticed that the Barbie had on the wrong color dress.  The sales associate (wish i remembered her name) told me not to worry and went out to the floor and found the Barbie with the color dress that was requested.  She did not have to do this,  but she did like it was no big deal.  To me, it was a big deal.

I have all of these dolls from 1989 to 2016. I love all of them, however I was a little disappointed in the "box" the doll came in this year.  The box seamed rather flimsy.  Not the quality I have come to expect from Mattel.

Holiday Barbie

I ORDERED 2.  THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL AND I GOT THEM FOR A GOOD PRICE.  ONE OF THE BOXES WAS DAMAGED A LITTLE WHICH IS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING BECAUSE MY GRANDDAUGHTERS KEEP THEM AS COLLECTORS ITEMS.   I MAY MAKE AN EXCHANGE AT THE STORE, JUST HATE TO GET OUT IN ALL THAT MESS A FEW DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS.

2016 HOLIDAY BARBIE

It just seems these special Holiday Barbies are getting less impressive as the years go on. I've been buying them for 16 years for my daughter. This year, the packaging and Barbie look so cheap & not impressive. But it's our tradition to get the Holiday Barbie! That's the only reason I gave 3 stars.

I have been collecting Holiday barbies since 1988.  i am disappointed in the doll quality & the way it is packaged.  Very different from all previous years.

Disappointed collector.

I have gotten a holiday Barbie for my granddaughter every year for the last 15 years.  I am always amazed at how pretty they are and the attention to detail in every aspect of the doll, her dress, jewelry and make up.  Mattel really dropped the ball on this one.  the packaging is cheap looking, the doll is cheap looking, the plastic top to her dress is hideous and only covers the front, the hair is not styled and she's practically bald in the back, wearing only a chintzy looking bracelet.  This will be the last Holiday Barbie for us.  Waste of money!

Cheap looking

My Mother has purchased the Holiday Barbie for my daughter every Christmas since she was born. She is now 17 years old and I am ashamed to give this doll to her. Please understand, it is not the doll, but the packaging that is the problem. That being said with any collectible the packaging is of primary importance. I ordered online for in store pickup. I had them open it at pickup to verify that the packaging was not damaged. It was not damaged in transit, but was faulty from the factory! The design of the packaging is a darling snow globe shape, I was excited for this after many years of boring rectangular boxes, however they were not able to execute this packaging successfully.  My doll had one entire side that was not sealed, the clear plastic globe front was not attached to the cardboard back, and clearly never had been. I was offered to get one off the shelf in the store, which I accepted, but found that ALL of the packages had a simular problem! I ended up buying the best one I could find and part of the dress was sticking out of the package! I am SO disappointed...

Just sad...

We have been buying these holiday Barbies since they started making them. This year, however, was the worst one I have ever seen The packaging is cheap, the doll is incredibly cheap and if it wasn't a tradition, I definitely would not have purchased one this year. Very disappointed in this product.

Worst one ever

This year's Holiday Barbie's packaging appears cheap. The box is not even a box, its a piece of plastic attached to a piece of flimsy cardboard. I am collector of this particular Barbie and prefer to keep them sealed in the original box. Keeps them nice looking to keep the box in mint condition. As I said before, this year's doll is not in a box, its more like a plastic bubble. If I was not a collector of this line of dolls, I probably would have just left it on the shelf.

I have bought  four Holiday Barbies every year for my four nieces from their first Christmas to date so  with these  four makes 80 of them , They collect and do not open them , First Walmart put labels over their faces on package that I had a heck of a time getting off, Then just the packaging looks cheap not a bright idea that the package size do not match all the others through the years  and the dolls them selves could be any dollar store doll. No  glitz no glamor of the holiday's .Nice gown, bodice cheap. I could not be any more disappointed for my nieces as they ask for them every year

Their mothers can get them now .
