Been wanting a food processor ever since I moved out and didn't have my mom's to use; 20 years later, we've gotten one from the wedding registry and it is everything I dreamed of! Made guac on day one and used it to shred the chicken for buffalo chicken dip the next day. We're using it about once to twice a week for various chopping/blending/shredding parts of recipes. It really crushed for chili night last week when I made both a red and white chili. Used it for the onions, jalapeno, and garlic (each chili).

Anyway, a version of the Cuisinart food processor has been in my life for as long as I've watched/helped my mom cook (at least 35 years) and it's so awesome to have my own now.

Rich Heritage of Shredding and Chopping

I only used it to shred cheese so far, but it's almost worth it for that alone. I froze the block of cheddar for a few minutes, drop it in the chute, and it was perfectly shredded in like three seconds. Can't wait to use it to make salsa and soups and whatever else!

Fantastic Investment

I was initially distressed that I had to replace my 25 year old food processor because the plastic parts kept breaking. This one uses the same base and all the same blades, just with a redesigned workbowl and lid that will probably be less prone to breakages. I've replaced various plastic parts several times before on my prior model and just decided to stop doing that. But this new one is both quieter and more solid in operation than my old one. So I'm very glad I replaced the whole thing.

Much improved over my old version of the same thin

I bought this Cuisinart 14 cup food processor to replace an old one I've had for too long! I knew I wanted one with the heavy metal housing, and not plastic.  I read all the reviews I could find and wanted a large one since I cook often for my daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren and for church gatherings.  I could not be anymore pleased or excited after using this processor!!  I had read where it was easy on users with severe arthritis and they were 100% correct!!  I have already recommended it to several family members and friends!  Thank you Cuisinart for a truly high quality and easy to use small kitchen appliance, which are getting harder to find!

Why did I wait so long??

I purchased this processed because of the excellent reviews, and it lives up to its reputation. I've used it for bread dough and a variety of cheeses and it performs extremely well.  For small, 3 cup flour, dough batches it takes only a few minutes to complete; compared to 10 minutes or more with my stand mixer.  I highly recommend this product!

Great Processor

I had a 7 cup for years but it just wasn't big enough.  I'd have to empty it sometimes more then once.  The only thing that's different is the food shoot is in the back not the front.  I find that inconvenient.  Not sure why they did that.  That's why I gave it 4 not 5.

Love the size

Okay, this one has the heavy duty motor and is very solid. Nothing fussy, but grinds away like crazy. I had another model that's as a lightweight motor and a couple of speeds, but it  was falling apart within a year. My first Cuisinart lived to the ripe old age of 27. 
So back to this model, the dicing attachment, winch is very cool, does not work with this model. Jeez. I wish they would think outside the box a little.

Strength, but not versatility.

I like the product chopping and shredding ability..however, I really wish the flat lid was also available like in the older models ...
I really miss this kind for chopping as the other lid is much harder to clean!

The part that broke on my cuisinart is a problem and well known to break.  Warranty did not cover.  I hope they have changed the design or people stop buying the 14-cup model.  I know I'm sorry I bought after using it twice and it broke.  After using Google I found it is a well known problem.
