I would rate this bed at 4 1/2 but that is not an available choice. The directions were like an ambiguous treasure map. But we figured it out and had the bed assembled in an hour. It is beautiful! I am waiting on my mattress to arrive so that I can try it out. I do not like the plastic pieces that the slats fit into. I don't think they are durable. The bed is sturdy otherwise and absolutely gorgeous! I was thinking that if those plastic pieces wear out, instead of replacing them (you can buy them at any hardware store) I should buy  a metal platform. I recommend purchasing this product.
