First off you need 2 people to assemble, second, the threading and alignment are off so much that even with a rubber mallet it was hard to line up. One screw was left off the bottom base and another on the first shelf.  There is no quality control in China where it was made.  Something that usually takes my handy man engineer husband 20minutes took 90.  It looks great , heavy wood  and solid but what a pain to put together. Beware of difficulties .

Very disappointed in this purchase, like the looks of it, BUT scratches very very easy and bottom piece came with a chunk missing out of the corner, so have to have that side facing toward the back..
