[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After I opened the box and looked inside, the shape inspired me. A charging pod that was a speaker too!

My Soundform Elite model is an awesome black that sits on my man cave side table. When I settle in at the end of the day l, I can charge my phone, play my tunes and have a cocktail and relax. 

The music fills the room like no other speaker has before in my house since I packed up the huge speakers and boxy stereo unit I once had. And I have other Google devices, even an Alexa too. But those devices make noise. This one plays music. There is a difference!

I can tell the Soundform Elites built in Google to turn on my lights, close my garage door, and turn up the air conditioning, all on the same unit that charges my phone, and plays great music at higher volumes than any other device in my house. And I do like my music loud and crisp. 

The Bluetooth pairs easily all the time. 

I have but a 2 reservations:

1 - I can't use my Soundform Elite to answer my iPhone Or hold a conversation using the Soundform Elite as a speaker phone. Maybe that's a future process Apple and Google need to work out. 

2 - The power supply, which sits at the outlet level, is rather large. In some cases it could require an extension cord because of its bulk. 

But I have gotten past any challenges to enjoy this new addition to my tech stable. 

Im even looking at getting the white one for the bedroom to wake up and go to sleep with outstanding music and crisp sounding news from Google. 

I whole heartedly would recommend the Belkin Soundform Elite. It's been two months and I love mine.

Good sound quality, with room for smart function

The SoundForm Elite featured very easy, quick set-up, especially if you have prior experience with any other Google Assistant compatible devices.  Only a Quick-Start Guide was included, which had no reference to a more in-depth online user guide.  Though operation is very straight-forward, I think there would be a benefit to providing more detail for users who may not be very experienced in set-up functions.  It worked easily with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.  The SoundForm has excellent compatibility with Google Chromecast and works flawlessly in all Google Assistant functions.  It is a very nice replacement for the existing smart-speaker and charger taking up space on my nightstand.

SMART-SPEAKER:

The speaker has very good room immersing sound, that definitely outshines mid-level smart-speakers.  You can use the Google Home App to adjust the speaker equalization to your taste.  Although I would not compare the SoundForm to audiophile or high end wireless speakers, it is exceptionally good as a mid-level smart-speaker.  In its current configuration, the SoundForm's lowest volume setting is too loud to be used to play music as you retire.  I think that would be an easy production fix.

PHONE CHARGER:

The charger was very tolerant of the placement of the cell phone and charged mine without having to remove its case.  The angle that the cell phone is cradled is great to be able to view the clock or a message that comes in over-night (or anytime it's charging) without lifting the phone out of the charger.  

CONCLUSION:

The SoundForm is particularly nice, in that I know of no other smart-speaker that combines inductive charging, which makes it a really nice fit wherever you normally charge your phone.  Its speaker is definitely capable of filling a room with sound.  My only reservation with the SoundForm is that I feel that the present M.S.R.P. may be a little high for it to compete effectively against others at this price point.
