I wanted to replace a lantern that was getting old. I am very pleased with how bright this lantern is. I live in a very tiny town with no street lights.  We also have a.ossif power  a couple times a year. So this will be a great replacement to use for either inside or outside. I dowishithad a magnetic bottom, but for the price, I am pleased. Will probably order another one

Great little lantern! This lantern, although small, puts out a large amount of light!!! And it runs on just 3 AA batteries!! We bought ours for use during power outages, but I think this would work well in an RV, camping or even for a child for indoor "camping" or nighttime reading in bed! Good Lantern, reasonably priced and collapsible for easy storage!

Bell & Howell Taclight Lantern

I bought 6 of these for the hunters and campers in my family and they were a hit for Christmas.  The brightest light I ever saw and seems to be well made!

Great Gift

The lanterns are almost as bright as you see on TV.  I bought two, one the garage and one to use in the house for power failures.  The one in the garage doesn't light up as wide of an area as I had hoped.  The one in the house is perfect.  Plenty of light to get around from room to room, and to keep in one room and be able to move around without bumping into anything and keeping the lantern in one location.  Easy to read by also.  All in all it does the job and I like the compact size, light weight, and easy to keep in handy places for emergencies.  I would recommend the lantern to my family and friends and I'm glad I bought them.

As advertised, this versatile camp light is bright, compact and durable. Small and light enough for backpacking use, the feature allowing latern collapse to a smaller profile and solid breakage protection is unique and practical.

Bright tent light

The lantern I ordered was supposed to have a magnetic bottom with a hook. this one just had the flat bottom and I do use the magnetic bottom and hook. thankfully I have a spare bottom from one that broke that does fit this particular model. When they stopped using the magnetic bottoms with hooks that greatly diminished the versatility of the lanterns

This lantern works just fine, but It should have stated in the specifications that this one does not have the magnetic bottom.  The one shown on TV has a magnetic bottom and that is actually the one I wanted to purchase.

Just okay.

I bought 5 after seeing the adds. Had high hopes for these lanterns and was going to give them as gifts. But they are made of cheap plastic (couldn't withstand fire, probably not even a hot blow dryer), no gaskets (can't be water tight if the battery compartment fills with water). And I could bend the plastic squeezing it in 1 hand (actually thought I was going to break it, so I stopped, but I heard cracking)

Not even the worst part.... I opened 3 of the 5 lanterns and only 1 of the 3 actually worked properly. out of the 2 that didn't work, 1 had 2 LED strips that didn't work and the other and 1 that didn't work.

I only received one lamp when the ad said it was for two pieces and it also showed that it had a magnetic base which it doesn't .  Other than that the light is very bright.

The light  is very bright.

I ordered 4 of these for Christmas presents. One of them was broken apon delivery. I have contacted walmart about this, and received nothing back from the third party walmart.com is selling them for.
