This lantern is perfect when the power goes out.  I keep several handy, and they never fail!!  The LED light is a bright light that illuminates my 13 X 20 livingroom.  I hang another on my pole lamp next to my recliner so I can read a book.  Also, keep one in your nightstand.  One lamp illuminates my large bedroom 14 x 17 easily, so I can use my IPad or read.   This lantern is better than any flashlight as it can sit or be hung up.   I heartily recommend it.

I love these lanterns  they are very bright and good for when you have a blackout. The lighting is very good. I like that they use double AA batteries.

I would buy again

This was a gift for my friend.  After our power outage and unusual hard freeze and snow in February 2021, I felt they really needed this.  I like the color red, which to me says "emergency use" and the batteries were easy to install.  (Also, I bought  better long lasting batteries for her.)  I also reminded her to remove the batteries when not in use because of possible corrosion and actually put the batteries in a zip lock bag, poked a small hole in the upper edge of the bag, and ran a tie through it to keep it with the lantern.  I really like the ease in pulling the handle up which turns the light on.

This is a cool item.  As a kid, I used a similar devise many years ago, to read books under the blankets when it was "lights out".

Excellent for power outages.  That is why I purchased it.  Good quality.

Bright light - this little lantern puts out a bright light with 2 AA batteries. Great for home use when the lights go out due to a storm and great outside anytime. You can hang it up so have free use of  your hands.

They don't have an off and on button. They have to be aligned to close properly and close to be closed properly. If not, the light stays on.

Was happy to catch a sale, until I received the item. First, it didn't come in the traditional taclight box like seen on commercials or in stores. Second, it had visible dirt stains as if someone already used it. Third, it had clear damage to the outside, which was a giant red flag. I bought  a taclight lantern from my store before so I wanted another one since it works fantastically. During a blackout I accidentally dropped my lantern, it fell about four feet and didn't crack, chip, or show any other sign of damage. But the one they sent me had serious chips in it! Makes me wonder of it's a real taclight lantern or not, or if someone just seriously abused it at some point. I would recommend getting this directly from a store to be safe.

Disappointed!

I was very disappointed. This is not as advertised.  I bought one about a month ago and was very happy with it so was purchasing a second. This is nothing like the original I got even though it is just a different color. It is not as heavy and feels very cheaply made. Don't believe the description.
