This fits my mountain bike perfectly. It's easy to install and perfect for everyday use. I can toss my beach towel and keys in there and remove it easily to carry with me to the pool. Perfect! :)

You can actually take it off and do a little shopping & carry your goodies in the store and the ride home.

I bought this to carry my 5lbs chihuahua around in. I put black duck tape all over it inside and out so her nails wouldnt get stuck in the little holes of it. It holds her no problem. It is removable with the push of a button but I never remove it. It has held up to about 10 lbs of groceries no problem. i like that it doesnt have those dumb side braces that go down to the wheel area. It press against the bike's steering stem for extra support. just keep in mind that when you have something in the basket and are parking the bike it can tip over the bike from any extra added weight. great basket over all!

Awesome!

This basket takes a little longer to install than the ones that simply hook over the handlebars but it more durable and easy to use. It is a good size. I can put a nice beach towel and bag with water suntan lotion and misc. without worrying about losing my load. I've also bungee'd larger items to the basket and it holds up well and keeps it's shape. I've bought 3 of these and then another 3 for the family bikes. I wouldn't have bought the second set if I wasn't pleased with them!

Very nice bicycle basket!

Would have been easier to install if the screws had been 1/4 inch longer but with the help of vice grips, I got it installed on my 32" beach cruiser. It is very stable and sturdy using the support with a tie wrap (supplied) going to the handlebar stem. The plastic mounting bracket appears to be a high quality thermoplastic. I really like the quick release button. I recently rode 4 miles to the local supermarket (I'm 72) and purchased a gallon of milk and 16 cans of cat food. No problem with the basket carrying it. It did affect the steering a little but wasn't really bad. Other than the short mounting screws, this is the best basket I have found at any price.

I love this basket

My 9 year old son loves this basket. It fits his 20 inch mountain bike just fine. He is able to remove and replace the basket very easily on his own. It has plenty of room for a few school books. He really loves it. We think it is a little flimsy because it is easy to bend, but for the price...it has been the perfect basket for my son's new bike.

I know what you are thinking, how hard can it be to put a basket on a bike. Well, if you want to turn your handle bars correctly and it not push down on your fender when you put something in your basket, you will know what I meant. I could not find a way to protect my fender as this basket required a certain tilt to be able to remove it. So you will have to choose, do you want to be able to take the basket off, or do you want to damage your fender.

No direcetions

The plastic clamps designed to snug around the handlebars (think of plumbing water pipe clamps) but in plastic...has very short screws and the clamps wouldn't fit around my handlebars. My husband had to get creative (which shouldn't be the case) and look in his shop for much longer screws to allow more space between the two clamp pieces to make the clamps fit around the handlebar tubular shape. The basket itself is nice and sturdy and what I would expect for the less than $10 price tag, but I think Bell should have offered various size clamps or at least longer screws to fit thicker handlebars. While at this moment, I think I'll keep the basket (and my bike ride today....will demonstrate if my husband's modification will keep the basket on my bike), when you purchase an item you shouldn't have to come home and get creative to make it work. My 10 speed is probably 8 years old and my husbands 18 speed is possibly 6 and the clamp lacked fitting around either bar by at least an 1", so you can see it was a major issue. The directions were tightly secured on the basket with strap ties. Once you remove the advertisement, the instructions are on the underside of the cardboard advertisement, but don't expect it to address clamp issues.

nice basket, poor clamp design

Very disappointing. Clamps did not fit around the handle bars, and when tightened the plastic cracked on both sides. Very surprised at all of the positive reviews. When the basket is locked in place, it flops around and does not feel secure. It states on the instructions that it only holds 4 pounds, but the picture on the packaging shows it carrying at least 10 pounds of fruit. Will have to purchase zip ties to secure it into place if I don't return it.

Did not survive the installation
