Ease Of Installation

I bought this rack to replace one (same type) that broke due to someone sitting on it - not the product's fault: someone weighing 170 lbs should not sit on a rack rated for 40 lbs...I ordered the item for pick-up, and realized when I got home that half of the mounting bracket system was missing from the package. Since I was replacing an identical item, I had the missing parts and was able to install it, but someone who was purchasing new would a) probably not recognize if parts were missing even if they checked at the store and b) need to make another trip to the store to return and replace.

This rack weighs only 2lbs so it doesn't add a lot of weight to the bike. It was very easy to install and had 3 extra bolts. Now I can carry a pannier bag with snacks and drinks on the trail ride!

Great rack for price

I bought this caddy to go with my 26 in Cranbrook Huffy cruiser bike (which I bought at the same time). I did buy it knowing it did not come with an allen wrench, or adjustable wrench and I would need to purchase them additionally. However, I figured out early on that it did not come with all the hardware needed for assembly either. It required 8 bolts to put together and attach to the bike frame, but only came with 4 nuts. It took 4 of the bolts and all 4 nuts to put the rack together, and the other 4 bolts were to attach the rack to the actual bike. I was able to put the rack together, but will need to make another trip to the hardware store to buy addition nuts to attach it. I am fine with having to get additional items to use the rack, but I think the manufacturing company should add a statement to the packaging stating that the buyer will need additional nuts to attach the rack to the bike just like they stated additional tools were needed for assembly.

Looks to be a well-made rack, with all the hardware you need to install it. You will need a 4mm and a 5mm allen or hex wrench to install it, but that is all. Very light, but seems strong. Claims 20 pound weight capacity, and I believe it. Unfortunately, I was unable to install the rack on my bike, since I have rear disc brakes on my Fuji Traverse 1.5D. If you have normal caliper brakes on your bike, I'm sure this rack would fit fine. However, if you have disc brakes, I would absolutely not recommend this rack, since I do not believe it would fit any disc brake bicycles.

Does not fit bikes with rear disc brakes

First off, this rack was made for bikes that have the eyelets built into the frame. I've never owned bike with those eyelets, go figure. If you don't have those eyelets, plan on buying some p clamps to fasten the front part to your bike frame (unless you can up with some other way). In my case, I have an old 27" 10 speed road bike so my frame is pretty narrow at the fastening point. 3/8" p clamps worked perfect for me. There is plenty of adjustment for both rear bottom and front top connections.

Bike carrier

This is a great bike caddy. The only con is be sure your bike has holes for the support arms before you buy. We purchased this thinking we would mount on my husband's bike. There were no holes. My ladies Schwinn had the necessary holes. My husband had it installed in a few minutes.

Bike caddy

Seemed great when I got it. Easy to put a mesh net on and hold things in place. I only ride my bike a few times a year so I maybe used this rack 10 times max before the rod holding the rack to the back wheel completely broke off at the screw. Not even sure it's actually metal all the way through.

Didn't hold up

I purchased this on clearance at Walmart in 2018, and was glad I did so. I have a 1993 Giant Sedona mountain bike, and this product fit straight on, with moderate effort. I cut the forward brackets to length after prior testing for fit-up and it looks as if it were made specifically for my bike. Needless to say, It is a wonderful product if you have threaded eyelets built into your bike frame.

I'm looking to buy another just like it

I just purchased my Kent  Bayside 2 days ago,and went too walmart today too purchase rack.I had too make a trip too Lowe's for 2  bolts 1/2 inch long and 2 nylon pile clamps 3/4 inch..,returned home ,read directions and pics twice and assembled rack on bike,working slow ,it was finished in 30 min. and looked great.

All bolts and nuts and washers were in little bag,the 2 bolts 1/2 inch ,are not included on purpose because of the many bikes out there and the 2 clamps were used by me because my  Kent doesn't come with tapped holes,its no big deal.,I'm very happy with the end product!!
