These gem lids are being discontinued and all us baby boomers who are still canning use these jars and need these lids.

These Gem jar lids are essential if one is to continue using the jars passed down form one generation to the next. I do not like the idea of people filling the landfills with glass jars that have become redundant because the lids to make them viable are no longer produced or available. I would have given 5 stars b/c the lids themselves do the job. I would have actually given one star for the Bernadine company who at least gave "us" a transition period...time to stock up on lids if we chose not to purchase new jars. But I am disappointed in what I understand is a cessation of production of Gem jar lids.

Production of GEM jar lids needs to continue

It has been difficult to find gem lids.  Unfortunately I had to buy the rings too, which I did not need. It was quite expensive but I needed that size to fit my jars.
