I recently purchased Bernat Roving, having been drawn to it by Yarnspiration's Snowdrift Cable Set pattern. I have knitted several hat and scarf sets and have been very pleased with the yarn in various colors. I have used roving in my classroom over the years, because schools tend to buy it for crafts. This roving is far more beautiful than what I used on my bulletin boards! However, it does take careful technique because it will split easily and it will pull apart if you stretch the yarn too much when you are finishing off your ends. That is a characteristic of roving, but if you are gentle with it, your results will be gorgeous.

Knitting with the roving yarn was great. It was sometimes difficult to use it when sewing the pieces together because the yarn would eventually weaken and pull apart. By shortening the length of the yarn, I was able to overcome this problem.

Bernal Roving

This is truly a great roving yarn. Crochet a lot of hats that I sell and customers say it is soft, warm and lightweight to wear. It is beautiful to crochet or knit with and flows on your hook or needles. Very consistent quality. Just wish that Bernat would bring back the colours that they discontinued (Squashed is one of them), this colour was a huge seller for me. Love this yarn

Softest yarn

I&#x27;ve used this yarn for several projects and it knits up quickly and beautifully. The colors are very attractive and I always receive compliments when I wear something I made with this yarn.

Wonderful Yarn!

This works up beautifully. At first, I thought it would be hard to pull out in case of mistakes but found it to be no worse than anything else. I do wish it came in a pretty butter and/or light purple to coordinate with the quartz and low tide but that&#x27;s my ONLY complaint.

Beautiful

The colours and the texture are great. However, I had some issues with this yarn when I was knitting projects that required cinching to finish (i.e., hats and mittens knitted in the round). The yarn would disintegrate when pulled; it is quite weak. This yarn is great for projects that don't require cinching, such as scarves and blankets, but I would recommend finding another type of yarn for projects that require pulling on the yarn to cinch.

Good texture, poor durability

I bought 16 skeins to make an Afghan and the yarn worked up beautifully. The only issues were that the yarn tended to twist quite a bit while I crocheted and my last skein of yarn thinned our at the end from the size of normal bulky yarn to worsted weight. Other than that I liked the yarn!

One skein was unusable

I found a lot of breakage with this yarn. I would not purchase it again.
