I bought this yarn, probably over a year ago as a beginner. Initially, I found it difficult to work with because it's hard to see the stitches, and having said that I would not recommend this yarn for a beginner. However, the velvet is softer than anything else I've found as far as yarn goes. A year later and having improved, I now have no problem finding my stitches. The yarn is beautiful and worth every penny.

I love this yarn!

Yarnspirations.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using all of the colors of Bernat velvet and crushed velvet to make hats, shawls, wristers, infinity scarves, large blankets, throw blankets and various other creations for loved ones and to sell at a local store. There has not been one person who doesn't absolutely love the feeling and warmth this yarn provides. If it is ever discontinued, I would be heart broken along with anyone who has received or purchased the items I make it.

So soft and easy to work with!

I've bought seven different colors of this yarn. Each color is beautiful, rich looking and easy to use. I've crocheted beautiful afghans using this yarn and given them as gifts. The recipients love the luxuriousness
of the yarn and warmth of the afghans

Luxurious and easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am one and a half skeins into an eight-skein blanket, and I love this yarn! It is soft, uniform, stitches easily, and creates a lovely depth of color in the finished blanket. I had a single problem where I had a tangle pull a little too tight, then the yarn shed a little while I was untangling it. Otherwise, top tier product.

Lovely yarn to crochet for a lovely finished look

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have over 40 years of experience crocheting and this is my favorite yarn to work with.

Not for the beginner. Stich tension is essential.

I love this yarn. I make stuffed dogs that I donate to my local children's hospital. It is so soft and does not irritate their skin. Washes well. But I am having a hard time finding it lately.

Perfect for my project.

I love workibg with velvet, although i typically double strand it, but these colors are so vibrant i didnt know yarn came in such beautiful colors. My only regret is not getting more

Beautiful and vibrant

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super soft. All of my grandchildren are asking for one easy to work with. They all want a blanket they can snuggle with.

Super snuggles

Bernat Velvet Yarn in white is soft, but as a new crocheter, I found it difficult to work a triple front loop with a single stitch in next loop. I needed to look at a vide. Maybe because the yarn is solid color and soft, it's hard to find your next stitch.

Bernat White Velvet Yarn

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Made the most comfy slippers I have ever worn using MJs ballet slipper pattern. Would rate it excellent if I could find more slipper type patterns for this weight.

Softest and comfy for slippers

Bought this to make a blanket for my granddaughter, and anticipated great success. Unfortunately, I had to throw the finished product out. Yarn is very slippery, and stretched out in great big loops from start to finish. I am an experienced knitter, and used a reliable pattern, and have a nice even hand. I kept thinking it might even out with careful blocking/stretching, but no such luck. Very disappointed.

Disappointed!

Bernat® Velvet™ Yarn, Polyester #5 Bulky, 10.5oz/300g, 315 Yards front-facing centered skein of plush bulky polyester yarn in mid-gray with subtle shine; wrapped layers show smooth short-pile texture and consistent bulky thickness on white studio background. Suitable for blankets and pillows and often worked from the outside of the skein.
