Again all of this stuff is great. This one had some wonky aspects to it.
The back panels the way you use the plastic sticker things on the back to "connect" them is not very effective. Setting the shelf heigh at those points helps hide it some. Also (like the u shaped desk) using double stick tape to mount a tall heavy upper piece to the lower piece is scary. I'd never want to move these later on.
STILL LOVE IT THOUGH! I'd buy another tomorrow if I had the budget.

Quality higher than the big box. Weird that they use sticky pads to keep furniture together. Not sure how long this will last. Some flimsy connection points. Tim will tell.

I purchased the exact bookcase in 2019 for less than half the price. Triple the price in less than 3 years is price gouging. Even the color was not the exact match!

We ordered 3 Bestar bookcases, 1 in brown & 2 in white. The brown one was covered in product stickers on several of the pieces (about 6 or so). This might have been ok if they were easy-peel stickers but these were either made to be part of the completed project (like an art installation?) or perhaps mistakenly applied with industrial-strength adhesive! Initially I tried to use Goo Gone but was afraid it would remove the finish from the shelves. So I soaked each piece with white vinegar, then scraped, then added coconut oil & scrubbed/scraped some more. In the time it took my husband to complete both of the white bookcases (which had dainty, easily removed stickers which indicates the company really IS capable of such a feat!), I still had not been able to remove all of the stickers from the brown shelves. It was literally hours of work. If this was the only irritating issue, I may have rated the product higher but there were also nicks/scratches on some of the pieces. The design of these bookcases is also somewhat lacking, in that you have to build 2 separate pieces, then CAREFULLY line up the top & bottom to adhere with 2-sided tape (hopefully they used the industrial-strengthed adhesive here as well!). There is probably a nifty trick to lining up the 2 pieces perfectly but after completing 3 of these bookcases, I can confidently say we never discovered the magical way to precisely adhere them evenly. Overall, the completed bookcase looks nice & was reasonably priced but I'm not sure that makes up for the irritation & profanities expressed while putting it together!

The bookcase is a disappointment in construction! The top half is taped to the bottom half with double-sided tape! Really poorly conceived - real bolts would have been appreciated!

Poor quality

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Very poor quality! The set came with multiple defective pieces. After assembly, the product broke apart. It was not worth keeping and we returned it.
