[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a fun but flawed Avalon Hill game.  It has the complexity of a typical AH game, but it is entirely card based, which makes it a nice tiny box.  The big problem is that the cards are very pretty... but that makes the icons and text hard to line up when playing.  Our group repeatedly said, "Uh, who is playing the squiggles in a circle" or similar, when there are multiple matches.  It is a very very pretty set of cards, but in some ways it is the opposite of a Euro game with clear, obvious icons for play.  

As for the gameplay itself, it is a fairly easy cooperative game in the learning mode (without a traitor), and thus the traitor's skill makes a difference for how hard the cooperative player side is.  We haven't played with the optional cards to increase difficulty yet.

It is a general recommendation: several players walked away saying they wanted to play it again.  However, it does not have a deduction mechanic, which it might appear to when you read the description.

A beautiful, artful game - for good and ill

The card art is really good but the font makes it kind of hard to read the names of the cards.
 It does not take long to set up and it is quite easy to do so.
This game is hard to win as an explorer. The traitor won without even doing any sort of traitor things.
I have only played it once so far, so it might be better after a couple more playthroughs, but I am not expecting it to be better.

Not as great as I hoped

I didn't like it

going through the reviews I thought they were tarot cards which is what I was looking for however when I received them they were some sort of new age wizards and dragons/ pokemon cards very disappointed

The are very nice, however not what I was expecting. Its not that there is something wrong with them - except for the fact that they are NOT tarot cards - which is what I originally wanted.
