The description of the tarp says it is 5 mil thick, but it is definitely not (maybe 2-3 mil thick if that).  If you need a tarp that's 5 mil, would not recommend this one.  The grommets are very sturdy and the corners are reinforced with plastic around the grommet.  Small holes puncture easily into this tarp.  Would not use this on something that you're trying to keep water out of (i.e. roof).

Tarp says it's 5 mil but it's very thin (2-3 mil)
