I purchased a new box of Bisquick and noticed the recipe for pancakes and waffles had changed.  I went on-line to find out why the change.  The information explained that changes in recipes happen from time to time to make the resulting item better than before.  In the case of waffles/pancakes, it was to make them lighter and fluffier.  This morning I made waffles following the new recipe.  After my husband had his first couple of bites he asked what I had done differently.  Before I told him about the new recipe, I asked "Why?"  He said because the waffle was "heavy and thick."  Certainly not the response I expected!  When I had my first couple of bites I had to totally agree with him.  Definitely not the light, fluffy waffles we have been eating for so many years (we are in our 70s).  No matter what your developers/tasters think they came up with as "new and better," in this house we will be going back to the old recipe!

If I could give it zero stars, I would.  Just made a batch of pancakes following the new recipe.  I could tell as I was flipping them that they weren't the same fluffy, light, pancakes of yore.  They were heavier than they should have been.  I found them to be very dense as well.  I am very disappointed as I am a loyal consumer.  I hope Betty Crocker will rethink this change and bring back the previous recipe. This new version should go the way of New Coke when it was released.

Doesn't taste like bisquick anymore.  Using the new pancake recipe with oil is so bad I threw them away. Leaving out the oil improves the end result, but still isn't good.  Bisquick was a unique product that was the only pancake I would eat. Used to love to drop biscuits as well.  Won't be purchasing bisquick unless they bring back their old product.

Want the old bisquick back

Bisquick has been a staple in our house forever.  Was raised on Bisquick pancakes.  And everything else cake-like, i.e. biscuits, dessert cakes and coblers, pancakes, pancakes and waffles.  Unfortunately ALL GOOD things come to an end.  The original recipe (we know and LOVE) has been changed, so if you get the original thinking it is what you are used to, you will be GREATLY DISSAPPOINTED.  Tried the newer heart friendly version and threw it out.  Terrible consistency and flavor.  I am looking for someone to create a copycat version of the old original version and post it to the internet.  I have bought my last Bisquick.  Good - bye old friend.  SO SAD

WHAT HAPPENED TO BISQUICK???

I just had to toss out two boxes of the "new" Bisquick, because my family refuses to eat it now that they changed how it's made. It tastes disgusting, and if this company made these changes (fewer ingredients, etc) just to increase profits, then they have a really big surprise coming. Nobody is going to buy this stuff anymore. I'm now looking for another brand that makes a mix that tastes like the OLD Bisquick.

They Changed It For the WORSE

I have used Bisquick for too many years making pancakes, biscuits, and strawberry shortcake in a 13 X 9 cake pan using the recipe on the box a few years ago I noticed that it didn't rise or fill the entire pan as it used to! So I doubled the recipe and still same barely fill the pan spreading it out and still wouldn't rise and taste was off. I searched the net figuring I was doing something wrong, on your web site states you might be mixing it too long or not enough- - REALLY! Now tonight I made some strawberry shortcake and my husband and I both agree TRASH! Found the same as everyone else has found on way too many web sites complaining about your product change. If it's not broke don't try to fix it!!!!!!!! Pull our heads out your backend!

What is wrong with you people!

Hadn't been able to figure out why my pancakes were so bland, dry and tasteless the last few boxes.   Went to make some biscuits, double checked the box for quantity, because I only needed to make half a batch.  What? Add Oil? I've never done that before.  Searched online and discovered an explosion of complaints on many many websites, from Reddit to cooking sites, that Bisquick has changed its old reliable formula.  No wonder the last few batches of biscuits and pancakes have been so bad.          No problem.  I already switched to Kodiak for pancakes, and I can easily make biscuits from scratch.  Bisquick was  simply a convenience.  I'll miss the classic coffee cake recipe, though.  And will have to try something else for dumplings.  

Did you guys learn nothing from New Coke?

Why Oh Why Would You Change It

I went through a couple of boxes thinking that the new weird taste and lack of fluffing was just me or my fault. But it seems that it's not me and the blend has changed. Not sure why but we deserve and explanation. If it was to make it more profitable then out the recipe back and charge more. You will make more money because there are a lot of people including me that will not be buying at all anymore. Can't make money with no customers.

Why? The new blend is garbage!

Bought my first box of Bisquick ina while and found that you have ruined a classic favorite foundation for biscuits and pancakes by changing the recipe.  The recipes now require oil to be added, which was not the case previously.  Does not taste the same nor have the same texture after baking. Return to the real “original” recipe of the Bisquick of my childhood.

Ruined the “Original Bisquick”

For over a year now I have been trying to figure out why my sausage balls are disgusting. I tried different sausages never suspecting that the bisquik ingredients had changed. Whatever the new ingredients are make them taste so sweet. Might be good for pancakes if I ate them, but definitely not what I'll be buying for sausage balls from now on. Bummer.

I have had to order this twice because the first one arrived squished totally and leaking and I took a chance and ordered another. The next one arrived fine and I have had one batch of biscuits already. love that stuff!!!
