Flavour

Consistency

Can be soft and flavorful, but also crumbly or overly sweet.

Has an amazing taste with a mix of flavors.

My daughter has recently been diagnosed with Celiac and we have been visiting various gluten-free bakeries looking for snacks. Have to say we made these cookies today and they are by far the best gluten-free cookie we have eaten so far. This will definitely be our go to cookie!

Betty Crocker

I've been baking with these for the past two years and they are my favorite as they are gluten, tapioca, dairy, and nut free; and all my friends think they taste the same as normal cookies. I've found that it's best to melt the butter, let it cool so it's not boiling hot, and then add it to the mix. I also use Earth Balance vegan butter which is basically vegetable oil. I've also found that I often add a bit more or less water than suggested to get a good consistency. I also do not grease my metal cooking tray and they easily come off with no burns. They are softer in the middle and if I want them crunchier I leave them in the oven longer. I also always let them sit for a while after I take them out of the oven. I really love this cookie mix!!!

I've been baking with these for the past two years

These and the line of gf products from Betty Crocker are among my favorite to bake with. I've found letting GF batter rest for about 10-15 min before baking allows the rice flour to absorb moisture and making GF all baked goods less grainy. I also freeze leftovers since GF seems to dry out very quickly after a day.

These and the line of gf products from Betty Crock

Great try for gluten free chocolate chip cookie mix.  However, this mix is a bit too sweet for me. (I can hardly believe I'm saying that because I do have a sweet tooth).  Hopefully, after a day or two, they will mellow a bit and not taste so sweet.  Otherwise, good job. Will I purchase this mix again, not sure.

I followed the instructions and softened the butter and not melted it. I took butter out at 9am, made cookies at 4pm, the butter never absorbed and created a clumpy dry mess. I never was able to even get a creamy dough to bake cookies with. In my opinion, I think the butter should have been melted or have used the vegetable oil option. I do not reccomend this recipe, will look into homemade recipes next time.

I followed the instructions and softened the butte

My daughter and I found this mix to be soooooo super sweet and we can't eat even one cookie without following immediately with milk.  So tired of everything being so sweet these days - I know it is a cookie, but do you think the sugar could be cut down so that it doesn't taste just like a mouthful of sugar?

They're not the worst GF cookies that I've had but they are definitely not what they used to be. They used to be great but are now WAY too sweet and the consistency is terrible. It's sticky and very grainy. I can't eat even one cookie without having to wash out the sugar and now get really bad heartburn eating even half of one. I won't be buying these again.

They're not the worst GF cookies that I've had but

I am VERY disappointed by the new recipe for the gluten free chocolate chip cookies.  The original recipe, which did not require water, nor did it contain molasses coloring, was far superior.  I will not buy the new one anymore.  Yuck!  BC, please bring back the original recipe!

I finally found someone else who noticed that Betty Crocker changed the recipe. Whyyyyy? It was one of the only desserts my son liked. He was diagnosed with Celiacs in 2nd grade and just started college. Everyweek I would make him a batch of cookies, sometimes changing it up by making mini cookies with mini mm's. And, every birthday since he was 8, I would make him a big cookie cake and decorate it. He couldn't have cake like everyone else, but he was so happy to have the giant chocolate chip cookie! I've tried every brand of cookie mix, and tried making them from scratch since you changed the recipe, but nothing was good or the same texture that he loved in the old recipe. This new recipe is sticky and hard when cooked and doesn't compare. Please please bring  back the old receipe and please explain why you changed it. I looked all over for the old boxes...and had my family looking too. Do you know if there are any left I can buy? A care package of his favorite old cookies would be such a wonderful surprise...

The new GF choc chip cookie mix box is so tiny, makes half the amount of cookies and they taste weird. Consistency is sticky, hard to work with. Maybe it's because you now add water. I had to put dough in freezer to work with it. Not sure what changed on ingredients but they have this odd overly sweet taste. Not crispin up like they used to. Very raw looking. This was a regular shopping cart item. Five stars before....No more.
