This was the biggest “trust the process” recipe. At first I was so nervous because it is very dry at first but I hand mixed it with gloves and kept at it and it came together after a few minutes. Overall I really liked it!! If it looks super dry just keep mixing in the butter it has to soften all the way through. And the egg as well.

I've used this product for years. As an amateur baker, I appreciate the product's consistency; I never wonder if the resulting mixed product will give me different results.  I just recently made 3 batches. The instructions have always said to add 3 tbsp of flour for rolled cut out cookies, which I always do; if it's not on the bag now, I hope they correct that.
The only problem I've ever had with them is some spreading if I let the dough get too warm, but I cut out and bake cookies at 375 for 9 minutes. I'll add a minute or three for my sister's because she likes them dark, but if the dough temp is right, cookies will hold their shape well.
About temp: I refrigerate my dough and pull them out an hour or two before cooking, the microwave the dough for 12 seconds to soften it. The outside will be warmer than the inside, so I knead the dough so the cooler center cools down the outside and it's all pliable. They usually don't spread unless I've really let the dough get too warm.
Lastly, I'm going to get Silpat baking mats to help with spreading. 
My family, friends and even students have always love the cookies I make from this product. I use vanilla and almond flavors in my powdered sugar or Royal icing, and, well, yum! Thank you "Betty Crocker" for a reliable, delicious product..

So easy, so delicious, not always available though.

Sugar Cookies Made Easy

Taste good.  Fabulous straight out of the oven.  Only problem is they get hard really quickly.  If you don't want a moist cookie you will like them.  But if you are looking for a chewy cookie, this isn't the product for you.  3 stars.

They are okay

It says will make 12 2” cookies….i got 12 cookies but they are very thin and fall apart when picked up. I put the dough in round drops on the sheet I did not flaten. Baked for 12 minutes at 375 
But they were mushy in the middle so puts back in for 2 minutes and still mushy so went in for 2 more minutes and they came out just barely brown on edges of some. I let them cooled and after 10 minutes they felt cool so using a metal spatula I lifted one up and it fell apart. Tried another one and it broke in half. The taste is okay. I sprinkled them with a little sugar and cinnamon. I don't believe I'll try the Sugar Cookie mix again. Here is  the code on the package 16000 45706.
The expiration date is 21FEB2025.
Disappointed as I wanted to give to a family by me that have four girls for Halloween along with some brownies and candy. Praying the Betty Crocker Salted Caramel brownies mix comes out good. I live on SS and I don't have one penny to my name at this time so I can't go out and buy some or another mix. So that's a lose of half stick of butter and mix.

Sugar cookie

I have always used your sugar cookie mix that comes in a bag. I always make drop cookies and have always cooked them for 7-9 minutes as the directions use to advise to do. The latest bag called for baking 17-19 minutes. The cookies didn't taste like they used to. Were much thicker/chewier. Did you change your recipe? If so I don't like them nearly as well. I don't do cut out cookies so this is not the issue…always drop cookies. Would love a response as to whether or not the mix has changed somehow. Thank you.

Rolling through the rollbacks, a young person saw this product and said "that's beautiful!" When the delivery came, I was slightly surprised we needed half a cup of butter and an egg but even MORE surprised that to make the flat cookie displayed on the front of the package we needed to add flour.  Worse, the instructions say to work the mix into the butter: almost impossible do so to make the cookies described first, less of a problem to make the rolled cookies because you're supposed to melt the butter but we hauled out the stand mixer. The short story? I thought a mix would help limit the work and the mess.  It didn't.  The photo on the package is misleading.  Boo, Betty Crocker. Boo boo boo.

Let me start by saying I am huge fan of BC products and cook books.
This one missed the mark. The dough was dry, and tasteless. I tried adding more moisture to the dough but the end result was the same a dry crumbly cookie.  I am a home baker of wedding cakes and specialty themed baked goods. I rely on box mixes for large projects. Not this one.
