This is the fourth unit I have bought over many years and am delighted it is still being sold.  We have two units operating in our home -- find they provide sufficient humidity, which can be set, so they will start up and stop as needed.  Filters last for months and are not expensive.  These stand alone units require far less maintenance than a unit mounted on furnace -- at the end of the season, I wash off any deposits with CLR -- just like new for the next year.

easy to operate and effective

Its better then the Honeywell version, a lot less noise, I can wash the filter a couple of times before replacing it, saving big $$$.
Those who had leaks probably dropped the water container part of it and cracked it . Even the smallest crack will make it leak.  That happened to my Honeywell cool humidifier.  My kids fault not Honeywell's' fault as my kids kicked it over and the water container cracked. They could make it more crack resistant.

Works well, very quiet no leaks

We have been very happy with this model. We paid a lot for it, but we have a large space to cover and needed one that could handle that without buying multiple humidifiers. We experienced immediate improvements and highly recommend this model. We are now in the market for a second one for another area of the house and would buy a second one at a good price, as we paid more then the price listed on this site when purchased instore about a month ago. Highly recommend.

Does a Great Job

We purchased this Bionaire Humidifier and it worked quite effectively for us.  The season was actually too short to test it for the whole winter but we are looking forward to setting it up come the fall of 2018 and letting it do it's thing.

Bionaire Cool Mist Tower Humidifier - BCM740B-CN

This is my second one, having dropped the tank on a hard floor, and it broke. The only thing I dislike about my new one is the cap on the tank. I find it very hard to screw on and off, especially for someone older (Like me). I have never had a water leak problem, and even though this one, I've only had a few weeks, I had my first one over a year.

Works Great

Both this 2 months ago.  Humidifies well.  Claims easy fill, it is not.you need 3 hands. 
Do not leave water in unit when it is turned off for a couple of days.  You will find water all over the floor on you return.

Looks nice but Leaks & hard to fill

I was hopeful when I bought this from Walmart, as the box did look like it was a recently returned item.  When I brought it home, unpacked it and read the instruction manual (not a very helpful design itself) I noticed that the filter meter thingy on the very top of the humidifier was "in the red".  I followed all the suggested steps that the manual had - run the humidifier for at least 30 minutes before reading the filter meter. After 3 hours, it was still the same, so I shut it off and waited to try again this morning.  There was no change; the indicator was still in the red - suggesting that a new filter is required. 
I called the customer support number provided in the manual and the support person, upon reading the same manual that I had said that it seems like it is broken - for me to just return the product and buy it again. 
This experience has left a bad impression on me for Bionaire and Walmart. I will not buy this again. I will not recommend it.  I will look elsewhere for a humidifier and do due diligence to find a quality product and a quality store to buy it from.

Broken wick / filter reader

I advice you to buy it, otherwise don't!
The Good:
Has a lot of water in the tank
No heater to vaporize the water - energy  efficient.
The Bad:
Water overflowing!!! 
The Ugly:
Damaged my floor and the ceiling of the basement!!!
Reason - poor  design (screws into the plastic that crack open) alows air get into the main water tank from the top, not from the bottom.
Because of that, slowly but surely, the water overflows the bottom open water tank.
I will fix it  myself but I suggest you don't  buy it.

If you consider yourself really lucky...

This thing is so bad. I paid premium price compared to all the others couldn't even bring a 10 x 15 room up three percentage points had better luck with the pail of water in the room. don't waste your money

Piece of Trash

I bought this product 2 months ago, and now I am having major gasket problems.   The Gasket keeps getting loose and causing major flooding problems.   It cannot hold water at all.   Total garbage.

Stay away from this product.
