I slept on the beauty for a while until I cut my hair again and remember the definition I got from using this product. A really great gel for a wash and go, doesn't leave your hair crunchy  and you dont need a lot. Smells good and lasts long. Also could for braid outs - a little truly goes a long way.

This gel is great for my mini twists. I get compliments EVERY TIME I use it and the best part is it has clean/healthy ingredients. I use an app to scan for harmful ingredients and The Alpha is great. My twist last so long too.

A must have for twists

I've been using themanechoice since the beginning! It's sad to see the products that I fell in love with (who actually helped me start my natural hair journey) has changed. I understand you may have to mass produce but I would rather wait for products to be back into stock, then pay all of this money to damage my hair. Themanechoice use to be a hair care line I can always default back to and trust but I find myself shying away from the products and having to find alternatives. The alpha was always my favorite line but the quality of it has been destroyed! Atleast keep the “alpha” line original! That's the very least you can do!

Please go back to the old formulas!!

I don't understand why a super good gel makes the ingredients so extremely degraded. The old formulation was without microplastics and glycerin. And now it's full of it. Very bad! Won't buy it anymore. That was once the best gel on the market and now I have to look for a new holy gral.

Formerly super now scrap... very sad

Started off great. I loved how it kept my hair full and not weighted down. A couple of hours in I noticed white flaking all over my head. It was embarrassing! Now I have to wash my hair again, which I try to only do once a week. So, so disappointed. Waste of money.

Flakes

I have been using this brand for at least 5 years. Products used to be made with clean ingredients & it was my favorite. Unfortunately the ingredients now contain harmful chemicals and it dries out my hair. I hate this brand for advertising natural products & switching up their formula.

BAD QUALITY

I bought this product locally 2 weeks ago and was so excited to try it. However, I was extremely disappointed by the results. I did exactly as was advised on the container and I made sure not to mix it with any other product to avoid the white residue. It did define my curls, but when it dried…my goodness!!!! The amount of white residue that was all over my hair made me want to cry. Needless to say, I had to rewash my hair before I left the house.

Disappointed

The flakes were so intense. I spent so much time at work trying to get all the flakes out of my hair. It is also super crunchy, so do what you will with that, everyone has a preference. Curls are super shiny and defined, once all the flakes are gone (lots of flakes). I have 4B/C low porosity hair for reference

FLAKES

It seems to be trending among hair-product manufacturers to start out a brand with high quality ingredients and then once they've established and gotten a good reputation due to actually working products, changing the formula's from high-end ingredients to low-end.  Clients nowadays are well informed: everybody spends years figuring out which ingredients work with their specific hairtype,  high porosity, low porosity, hard water, soft water, humid climate, dry climate. So when you're almost a chemist yourself from all this looking up  ingredients and you've finally found a product that has the right ingredients, you're counting on that product NOT TO CHANGE!!!!  If you want to create a gel with glycerin: fine put a new gel on the market and call it "all glycerin-gel"but do not completely overhaul a glycerin-free gel that people will be buying because it is just that. Won't continue using The Mane Choice brand anymore because I dislike these kind of "surprises".  Goodbye.

From glycerine free formula to ALL glycerine? You must be crazy.

This gel was pretty disappointing. I've been trying to get it to work since i bought it last year because I had seen so many good reviews on it. It's basically a jar full of glycerin. It is VERY sticky. It does sleek my hair well but i can't get past the stickiness. It's very dry as well. I tried it with the leave in from the same line and i got flakes. I've used it alone and it does the same thing. It does not work in humid climates at all.
