Used this on an old axe head id picked up off the road and repaired.  Cutting head was used on metal and had 3/4 inch chunks broken from and severly rusted. After new grind on cutting end and through sanding, I did not want it to rerust, so I used this product on it to protect the surface just like you would a gun barrel.  Worked great. Thank you.

my first time reblueing a gun the product didn't come with compleate instuctions but you-tube filled me in!!! my gun look great!!!

First time I've used this product. It definitely works but you have to make sure to clean the metal completely with soap and water until water will not bead but roll-off. After rinsing, a second application makes a darker finish. Using a good quality oil will keep it from rusting.

It definitely works

Used it for a piece of sculpture that was freshly-cleaned but raw finish welded steel.  After two coats the hue was just right.   Super Blue solution works very fast, a plus.   Finish was then coated with a fast-drying alkyd-linseed oil for protection.

I have gone thru many bottles of this product over the years.
Clean and degrease metal surface with brake cleaner and dry.
Use Q-tips swabs for application. Cut a small slot in the film over bottle opening and only insert a fresh swab.
Rub surface of cleaned dry metal with the wet swab until color is reached, Use additional wet fresh swabs if necessary, do not reinsert used swab into bottle!
Apply oil (I like Kroil) to the treated area which stops the bluing action and darkens the color.
Repeat entire process to darken more.

Used for years!

Good product. Does what it is intended to do. But keep in mind: it is poisonous.
