Value For Money

Offers competitive pricing, but may not justify cost for some users.

Can be long-lasting, but may drain quickly in heavy use.

I literally bought this for the battery. I had the 20v max weed eater first and wanted an extra battery, saw this and thought, no brainer. I actually haven't used it yet but my son-in-law has one just like it and he loves it. I haven't had a Black and Decker product fail me yet.

unbeatable for the price

walmart.com

This 5 1/2 inch hand saw is one of the best products I've ever owned. Small, light-weight, but durable for just about any small to medium woodworking projects one might be considering. I've cut through 1/4" and 1/2" plywood with ease with this saw. Two by fours are a cinch, quick and easy. The 20V Lithium battery provides plenty of power to get the job done. However, depending on the type of wood one is cutting and how much needs to be cut, the battery will drain quicker.

I discovered that; after constant hard use for about an hour and a half, the saw would stop cutting through the piece of plywood, indicating that it needed a charge on the battery. It took about an hour to recharge the battery. I highly recommend purchasing several extra batteries and keep them on charge so that one can continue on with their work instead of having to stop and wait for the battery to charge.

If you're a person who likes to do small projects where a lot of wood cutting is involved, and you don't like hefting a heavier electric circular saw, this light-weight little saw will not only get the job done, but won't wear your hand/arm out while doing it. This saw is light enough for the average woman to handle and not get fatigued in the arms during use.

Does the trick for smaller jobs and tight areas

I recently switched away from an older, corded circular saw to this smaller, light-weight, cordless saw and have loved the results! Corded tools tend to be a hazard, they are easy to trip over and I constantly have to be weary of cutting through the cord when I change cutting angles/positions. Not only does this cordless saw solve these issues, but it is actually lighter-weight than my old saw, even with the 20V battery. Since it is battery powered however, the charge only lasts so long—about 1.5 – 2 hours. Usually, this is plenty of time to finish my projects, however I bought an additional battery so that I always have one in use and one charging. So far, I have loved the product and would definitely recommend. I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.

10/10 would recommend!

This Black and Decker saw is beyond amazing. It is small but mighty! The five and a half inch saw is all I needed to get all my job done. The hand saw is adjustable so you can also make angled cuts. The battery seems small but lasts around 2 hours, plenty of time to get work done. I usually have an extra battery charging in case I need a little more time which the battery doesn't require much time to charge only about an hour. This saw has more than enough power for all jobs. I loved the price on it and is very reasonable compared to other models. All in all, I found for this saw to be worth every penny and gets any small project done! I received this product at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.

The Black and Decker 20 V Lithium Ion 5-1/2 inch circular saw is a light weight, light duty, cordless little piece of convenience. It comes replete with safety features like an electric brake and a spindle lock, and an easy to adjust cut depth that doesn't require any tools to set is a pleasant bonus as well.

Pretty useful for small projects!

I received this product as a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.

Good for smaller projects

My husband said he would like to have a circular saw and our anniversary is in September. I hope this is the one he wanted because it is built sturdy and looks like it will be durable. We shall see in a few days!!!

Happy 36th Anniversary Gift

This saw is excellent. Just finished using this for my weekend project and I love it. I am building a cabinet for my dad's 70th birthday. It is lightweight, cordless, and has great safety features built in. The 5 1/2 inch blade cuts with ease. I was able to use it for about 2 hours in my shop before I had to recharge. Would recommend to my fellow craftsmen out there.

Light and Powerful

Works well, have to take your time, naturally not as powerful as the plug in style, but does the job. Managed to cut about six to seven 2 X 4's.

20V Power Saw

blackanddecker.com

very handy , cuts 2+4 s with ease, good value . thanks

good saw

The saw work great, cut through 2 x 4 and 2 x 6 with no problems. You need to go slow so the saw won't get stuck and will need to charge the battery after 10 cuts so get an extra battery.
I cut some small tree's and limbs with no problems. The saw is light and easy to use, I'm very happy with the saw.

Black and Decker 5 1/2 Saw

very weak, the battery dies after 5 min of usage. do not buy
