I purchased this Black %26 Decker iron after the Rowenta iron I had purchased a year ago kept dripping all over my clothes. This Black %26 Decker iron far exceeds the iron I had! I was pleasantly surprised. It heats up quickly, and irons my garments nicely. I definitely recommend this iron.

Can't go wrong with a Black and Decker.. love the brand and love this iron. Simply put the best bang for the buck. Works great. Heats up super fast and does what it should. I do like the little things like the alert when I forget it's on and the retractable cord.  The size is perfect for all that ironing we do.

Black and Decker Steam Iron

This iron has been the best. It's a little heavy, which helps press out the wrinkles. The steam is hot which helps with wrinkles also. I iron alot, and I highly recommend this iron..

Very smooth gliding and easy to use. It is longer than it may need to be, and taller than cupboard shelf.

Smooth but long

The iron irons well at different settings. I haven't used the stream function. It's a nice weight. I have wrist issues and I haven't had any problems using it. The reasons for 4 stars are: there's no on or off switch. If you leave the area, you either leave it on until it turns off on it's own or you have to unplug it, and reason number 2, the button to rewind it's cord has to be pressed and held down until the cord fully rewinds...the problem is that the button is right next to the cord "hole" so when the plug at the end of the cord gets close, there is the possibilty of it hitting your finger. I have to actually use something long to press in the bottom since my finger did get hit and it did hurt.

A workhorse iron which made me realize my old iron was not really doing a good job steam ironing my kids' school uniforms. This iron has a good weight, and so it does not fall over easily like the compact irons (less potential for accidents and burns). I would buy a 2nd one.

Very Hot

Although it does do a great job ironing especially linen, it did not move smoothly over certain fabrics at higher temperatures. It is also too heavy and the  vertical steam does not work.  Even if it did it would be too heavy to hold and push the steam button at the same time.

I received the iron 10/29/20 and today is 05/07/21, it's not working...it's getting power but is not heating up. I read the reviews before purchasing the iron but ignored the bad reviews, never again. When the iron was working, it was excellent but now it's just another piece of junk. I kept the old iron that I had for years, thank goodness.

This steam iron is a lot of work if steam is a priority which it certainly is to me. The side by side buttons for Left-misting and Right-steam are, for my hand, backwards.  To keep steam rolling you have to constantly pump the steam button which is in a place that requires I contort my hand if I do what is necessary to keep steam working (even with constant pressing of the button does not give you the steam needed).  By the time I finished ironing one panel of my drapes, my hand was cramped and in pain.  There are better irons at this price.  Don't choose this one.

the iron itself is fine. nothing special, works fine- but it was very obviously already used upon arrival. of course i wanted till i needed the iron to open it up and saw that it was scratched, dirty, water stains from where water spilled while filling resevoir and where it steamed out of heat plate. i had to use it though because i needed it that day. disgusting. expected more from walmart
