Charged easily, started my dead-battery car on the first try. Have only had it a few days, but I have great hopes for it.

The 300a charge pack is basically useless.. You need minimum 500 to start a mini van or any vehicle that requires 500 cold cranking amps.. i've never started my car with this. It doesn't have the juice to do it. Get something much bigger.

Not powerful enough to star a family car.

The power plug location is one of the most inconvenient I have seen on this type of model. Rather than a short cord or a foldable prong flush with the case it is a prong in a depression. This rules out using a standard outlet, a power strip, and even many extension cords with larger heads. You have to buy a separate extension cord to use with this. Because if you are stranded somewhere you can't just count on them having a spare extension cord of the right size hanging around. So add an extension cord and a strap to the purchase price of the charger.

Caveat Emptor

Poor design worsens this jump starter.

This is a relatively tiny device.  I bought it to charge my Iphone and Ipad at summer camp.  The charge lasted 5 days so it gets decent points there but there is a switch that you must turn to use it as a battery booster.  The switch broke off the first day.  When I looked at the broken switch I was amazed at how flimsy it was.  Two little plastic nubs held it on and they were 2mm thick.  Really?  You are supposed to be able to put this in your trunk and it broke riding in the back of the car.  I returned it and will be researching to purchase a more durable device.  I would invest a few dollars more for a sturdier box.
