I have been using chimney starters for a while, but find that most of them are too small and they don't seem to last long before rusting. I just got the Blackstone starter and used it last weekend. The first thing you should know about it is that it's larger than most chimney starters; in fact it will hold five pounds of charcoal. This is great if you use a larger size grill like my Weber. This unit worked very well and seems to be of very good quality. It has a nice thick heat resistant handle that I think will last a long time. I like it a lot and think you will too, give it a try!

A really great quality. heavy duty, and is made with higher quality material. Bigger than I expected, holds up to 5 lbs and it heats up coals much faster than my old one. Great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm sure this has its place for someone. I just find it to be another item to deal with and store. It looks awesome. It is stainless. It's heavy so I know it will handle the heat well. The charcoal chamber is large. It holds more than enough charcoal to start your grill. Another great thing is that you don't need lighter fluid to get it started. The idea is great and it works. I just wonder if it is really worth the extra effort or is it easier to pour the charcoal in a pile and light it up. The jury is still out for me.
