After 3 meals I find it effective and very convenient as a gas option, easy to use and clean.

Bought this for my hubbys 65th birthday.  He loves it. It was also $100 cheaper at Walmart than elsewhere.

Fantastic griddle

I have used this to prepare many types of foods and this thing is amazing

Extremely underwhelming and hugely disappointing griddle.  You would be better off using 2 12” nonstick pans.

I purchased this griddle from Walmart online for $393 dollars (taxes included). I used it the same day it was delivered (Saturday)  to make smash burgers. Based on its performance, I returned it the first chance I had for a full refund (Monday).  

It only took me one cook to determine that this griddle does not perform as expected.  1. The griddle will not heat up to anything close to 500 degrees despite what the control screen shows. 2. The surface temperatures vary drastically across the 22” cooking surface (both right to left, and front to back) making it impossible to have space to cook meaningful quantities of different types of food at the same time. (Example: 6 smash burgers , 6 buns toasting, onions caramelizing) 3. The griddle does not recover to anything near the temperature it initially heats to once food is placed on the surface. (For clarity: if you manage to get any sear on one side of your food, the surface temperature will not be anything close to the initial temperature when you flip the food.  This will result in you having to cook the second side much longer to get to the maillard effect - most likely causing your food to dry out.).  4. The center of the griddle bows substantially when hot making it impossible for food to cook without the natural juices draining to the sides of the griddle. This bowing also makes it more challenging to push grease towards the back of the griddle into the grease catch. 

Hugely disappointing because the design concept of this griddle, if executed better, would make this griddle a must have appliance for every household.

This is a very good looking (think aesthetically pleasing) device. Once you take it out of the box, it makes you want to cook on it immediately. It seems structurally solid (I.e. not made with cheap materials). Easy setup ( I did not get the cart option).  It is large when compared to other electric griddle options which appeals to people who routinely do big breakfast events.  The integrated see through functional lid is a great idea provided that you have countertop space without overhead cabinets.

Conclusion: Despite being somewhat pleasing to look at, this griddle performs poorly when compared to 2 good quality pans which is substantially cheaper than the cost of this device.  Sorry.  You need to do better Blackstone.  Your 22” electric griddle misses the mark.
