This general-purpose welding alloy contains silicone additives that result in improved fluidity of the weld pool and also produces a weld less sensitive to cracking, making for an easier weld time and a stronger hold. Its bright weld finish makes it a popular choice of welders. Applications include welding filler wire, spray and flame metalizing wire, and this alloy can be used to weld various grades of aluminum for added versatility. Welding rod certifications include AWS A5.10/ A5.10M:1999 with an ER4043 classification. The 3/32-inch diameter welding rod features a melting point of 1170 degrees Fahrenheit and a solidification point of 1065 degrees Fahrenheit.
