Bob Ross Gesso contains pure pigments formulated in a 100-percent acrylic polymer emulsion which when dry produces a smooth, flexible, flat finish on artwork surfaces. It is ideal for the Bob Ross painting techniques with oil colors as well as other art media including acrylics, tempera, watercolors, ink, pencil and more. Great stuff!  Make sure you use the right brushes!  With certain canvas just one coat will do the job, but if it's not primed you may want to put 2-4 coats of his gesso on.. it works well, and I keep using it.
