After removing loose or badly rotted wood, brush the Rotted Wood Restorer onto the damaged area and within 2 hours the damage can be filled with Bondo Wood Filler. The product is water resistant and is both paintable and stainable. A built-in brush applicator is attached to the lid for easy and convenient application. Because the product penetrates into the wood, it is able to create a solid base from within. Many products simply coat the exterior of the surface, but Bondo Rotted Wood Restorer penetrates beyond the surface. In only 2 hours, the product will dry to a tack-free finish that can be filled with Bondo Wood Filler to complete same day rot repairs. Bondo Rotted Wood Restorer is a one-part formula, meaning it does not require mixing. Simply brush onto the damaged surface and wait for it to dry to a solid surface.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I put this one a rotted part of my back deck not expecting much, but lo and behold.. it actually semi-restored the wood. The wood that was once softened from weathering and erosion has gained it's strength back. I don't know how long it'll last, but it certainly helped me for now, so I guess that's going to be a problem for a future me. Until then, I highly recommend this! - Lord Hyuga (Toni)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We used this to restore two dried and cracked wood thresholds on exterior doors. The cap has an internal applicator brush which was helpful. After sanding, this absorbed into the cracks and wood nicely. We applied multiple coats and then coated the thresholds with bondo wood filler. They really look new and the process produced excellent results. Now they're ready for paint and many more years of service.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] works really well, but as other reviews note, it is essentially a fancy glue and the can glues itself shut. I got this delivered. After being defeated by all manner of vice grips, bench vise and more, I used a can opener, and then poured what I had left into a glass jar. If you want to be able to use and store it in the can, go buy it in a box store and get someone to open it for you.
Also, the brush in the lid is pathetic if you are trying to use a lot, but a bigger cheap paint brush works fine.

a great product in search of better packaging

I thought I was getting a good deal on this since the 8 ounce cans cost around the same price on the Internet. The description is incorrect stating that it's a pint. I've let the seller and amazon know but it still states a pint(as of today).  I assume most people won't return it like I did since it's around the same price. You won't get it cheaper anywhere else.

It's 1/2 pint(8 ounces). Not a pint(16 ounces).

As previous buyers indicated this product normally is fantastic. It is not fantastic when shipped in a bag so that it arrives leaking, smelling of toxic fumes for my mailman to unknowingly deliver to me without any precautionary equipment. I read the reviews after opening the package so I knew to work fast before it hardened and would be unusable. This is not excusable behavior.
