Work in the flooring industry. This is great for measurements. I typically use it 4-5 times a week. In clients homes with a ton of furniture sometimes there is no way I would be able to use a tape measure without the client helping me. The BOSCH laser makes it easy to have a conversation with the client and measure with ease. In the 2 years I have used it the batteries have died twice. I keep spare batteries in the car.

Mine was ran over. It still turns on. The screen is dead but lights up. 100% durability, screen is very easily replaceable.

Survived 4 Tons of force

I'm only writing this review to help out anybody who like me, absent mindedly measures to the front of the unit, instead of the back, and does a search on why it's 4" off. I've had this for about 3 years and like it. Yesterday it kept adding 4" to the measurement. Now you know why. I have the same complaints as others. 1. The fractions are too small 2. You can't adjust it to read to the nearest 1/8, or 1/16th, it reads to 32nds. 3. The laser can't be seen in direct sunlight.

Adding 4" to the measurement?

I have used this a lot since 2023. The back is dated July 2022. It's very reliable and I've only changed the batteries one time. The only downside is that I'm a landscape designer and I use it outside a lot. It's often difficult to see the laser outside unless I'm pointing it to the shade. If I'm working in the sun, I have to measure the old-fashioned way.

Works well for landscape design

Nice tool for sure..  I was disappointed that you cannot select the resolution of the measurement to round to 1/8 for example. Telling me a window is 21 11/32 wide is not helpful, while telling me it is 21 3/8 would be great! So, adjusting resolution to the application would be a win. Also the fractions are small and hard to read.

Nice - but can use some refinement

Love the features of this laser measure. Tried to use it a couple of days ago and it was dead. Thought it was just the batteries, but new batteries didn't help. I see now from other reviews, that this is a common problem. Doesn't seem to be a question of if it will die, but when.

It was great when it worked.

I bought a Bosch Blaze 165-22. The tool is great. But the instructions really suck. I've had the laser measure for 2 months. I can't figure out how to 1. Erase memory, 2. subtract measurements, 3. Use any other features other than measuring because instructions don't tell you how to use it. I like this tool. I think I'd love it and give it a 5 star rating if the directions were available.

Instructions???

Same as other's experience.  Loved it until it stopped working within 1 year.  Would love to get another one but too much money for something that doesn't last a year.

Love these tools and are a life saver. If they work. I purchased this unit awhile ago and only used maybe a dozen times. However now it wont display properly. only bits of the screen work. Tried changing the batteries but still no luck. Very disappointing since it was just kept in my bag and barely used.

Great tool. But it just stopped working.

As others have pointed out, product works great while it works, but no durability over time even with extremely light use and proper care and storage. Mine also started showing 0' 0”, then - - - - as it attempts to register a measurement before showing Error. Swapped batteries and no change. Paid a premium for the Bosch name but this is the second Bosch product that has failed me within 2-3 years of ownership. I think I'll take my business elsewhere, unfortunately.
