The sound is very clean and crisp.  Unit is solidly constructed and easy to use.  Allows fairly high volume and significant bass for its compact size.  Likely to be extremely durable - Bose started in the speaker business, and this one looks like a wireless version of their DJ / musician monitors (minus the woofers)

Wowzers

Amazing Bose Color SoundLink II speaker!!  The sound it produces is noticeably better than my original Color SoundLink. You can't get better sound anywhere. I got these as gifts for my older kids. The best gift to give anyone but especially anyone with a camper!  Lightweight, compact, and crazy good sounding music off your phone in the mountains with no internet service.  Now I will go back and get one for ME!!!  And thank you Walmart for using a reputable 3rd party that actually delivered by the date they promised before Christmas.  I bought from 2 other companies including Best Buy who just sent Emails 3 days after they take your money saying delivery delayed.  Still waiting for Best 
Buy's item even after they promised delivery by Dec 24.  I will never use them again for anything because Walmart has now surpassed them all!!

I needed a speaker that would get louder than the average cheap speaker and this one is just right! I am very happy with it. It's also a nice size as it doesn't take up too much room and the bluetooth connects very quickly to my phone, unlike some speakers.

Gets Loud Enough

Good sound and design. The charging system and indicators do not give any reliable indication of the battery level. Green, amber, red are the 3 colors to indicate battery level, but there is never an amber light because the app shows either 100% or 40%, nothing else. I have charged the speaker several times, and it never shows accurate levels. 
I thought the speaker did not work at all when I received it because Bose did not include the information about "battery ship mode" in the package. After a couple of hours of frustration, I went to the Bose website, searched for this speaker model to find the actual user manual that is not included with the speaker. This is where you find out how to get the speaker out of "battery ship mode". Why would Bose not include that?
There is no way to know how long the speaker will operate. I am only keeping this speaker because I purchased the extended warranty, otherwise, I would have returned it. Overall it is a good speaker, but Bose did not do a good job with the documentation or the charging electronics. 
Important note: Bose did not include a charger, only a charging cable. Every product I have purchased comes with an OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturer) charger. And every product that came with a charger suggests that you use only the OEM charger to prevent possible damage to the product. And considering that a charger only costs about $10 retail, it likely would only cost Bose a couple of dollars to purchase them in bulk, but again, they did not do that.
I would not recommend buying this without the extended warranty.

Good speaker and design. Unreliable electronics.

I would  not buy this again.  Power runs  down fast. Have to turn volume past halfway to hear it at all. Doesn't seem to charge while being used or with power on even though plugged in. Really not worth the money. Would like to return it but its been almost 90 days.

Disappointed in Bose. Not up to their reputation.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first received the item I charged it for a few days before attempting to use it. After using it for about 15 minutes it began to tell me that the battery was low and I needed to charge it. After about another 10 minutes it completely died, and would not take another charge. I have a friend that has this speaker and it works so well that I decided to purchase one for myself,  but the one that I purchased was a total disappointment!

Charging  issues

i love Bose. that being said i was totally disappointed with the sound from this speaker. i returned it immediately and ended up buying a JBLflip5 . Two of them actually , the link up  for true stereo and sound great.

I already own a sony speaker and we bought this one for our son for Christmas. I hate it! It requires an app to use, the Sony does not. It is not nearly as loud and has very little base compared to the Sony. They are the same price on Amazon but the Sony is more expensive at Walmart. I was unable to return this because I purchased it as a Christmas gift and they only allow 15 days to return an electronic. So, I am out the $130, it just sits on a shelf and I bought my son another Sony speaker instead. The Sony also has a 24 hour battery life, and this one only has 8 hours.

Weak speaker: requires an app, low battery.
