Exactly like the 50  year old sharpener that it replaced after the old one was damaged beyond repair.  All metal construction, dual metal rollers for sharpening, mounting holes even lined up with the holes on the old one.  Very happy to find a quality item like this is still available.

great sharpener,  highly recommend for artists!  BUT you have to have a place to mount it with screws... you cannot hold it, the pencil, and crank at the same time...

I was so tired of using a hand, pencil sharpener. It's nice to have a pencil sharpener that will sharpen the pencil very quickly and precise thank you very much.

It looked fine I cooked it. Made chili and let it cool to put in bags to take to church , in that amount of time it had greenish gray fuzz on top of it. Needless to say I'm finished with ground turkey. I hope this doesn't happen to any one else

Fuzzy chili

As a homeschool mom this came in handy. Kids are constantly sharpening pencils and colored pencils and it sharpens and has no issues thus far. You do have to screw it down in order to use best. Can't be held and sharpened or it is difficult to work.

Good product

I wanted a pencil sharpener that didn't have batteries but did a better job than hand held sharpeners. Luckily I found this one, it does the job I need it to. Also reminds me of the ones I had in school. Those were the best, this is reminiscent of those. Would buy again.

Finally, a pencil sharpener with two helical cutters. After pulling my hair out using the cheap, single razor blade type sharpeners (manual and well as electric), I'm so happy with this. Not available in the store, but through Site To Store for no shipping. This actually was cheaper than my usual route where it shows up with a smile on the side of the box. Reviewers have complained about the lead tip not being perfectly exposed on one side, but I've also read that it could be with cheap pencils. I noticed this slightly in my case, but I'm using free pencils given away as promotion. To get around this, I simply allow the pencil to turn a little while sharpening. Perfect.

No School Like The Old School

Bostitch handle crank pencil sharpener sharpens to a fine point every time. No need to worry about plugging it in or batteries. Price was 1/3 of electric sharpeners. Ordered online and was in my neighborhood store in 2 days. Couldn't ask for anything else in a Pencil Sharpener

Old Fashioned Pencil Sharpener

So disappointed! Bought this name brand Bostitch thinking it would be high quality and easy to use. 
It was difficult to turn the handle while holding the pencil.  Horrible results, pencil appeared chopped and rough. Not in any way was the sharpened pencil acceptable.  I actually tried colored pencils and graphite pencils, good quality.
It was almost impossible to replace the cylinder after emptying shavings.  So frustrating!
 Ended up giving it away at our community center free table..UGH

Don't waste your money

One of the worst sharpeners I've ever had. It's tricky to impossible to find the right way to hold a pencil in it. It worked well at first putting a very good point on my pencil, but soon it was off center badly. Generally I like Bostitch products though. I'm sure if you get one that works right they're great....not my experience with this one.
