[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Even though my upper body is strong & I'm a fast walker, I was easily winded. Had a heart "event" a couple of years ago and then later could only last FOUR MINUTES on the dang treadmill! I got my Trainer 1 month ago today. Went from 4 minutes gasping for air to 13 minutes today....no gasping. The space footprint is so very small that there is room for it in my living room. It looks High Tech & looks really great there as well. Easy to follow assembly instructions. My Boyfriend and I put it together...together...with NO fighting! As a former body builder in my youth, I wasn't sure this would be something I'd like. I love free weights, but have to admit that I feel that I get an all around workout for the most part. I'm toning up, getting stronger and my lung capacity is getting better every day. I jump on the Trainer 2 times a day. So glad I invested in the BoFlex!! Oh! AND! Love that it has wheels to move it around!

You have to see it in person to REALLY appreciate it!

This is the machine! I enjoy my time on it and look forward to the next. It is getting my stamina back! The best part is it doesn't take that long for a workout. You can do however long you want!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before I purchased the BowFlex Max Trainer M9, I contacted the customer service to ask if this machine can be used manually without internet. I was told, yes, and that is why I bought it. For internet I have a hotspot only. Well, I was told wrong, because you do need internet to work the machine. You won't need their subscription JRNY, if you only want to use the manual workout . I find that is the only thing that I like to use ( manual) and it doesn't use to much of my hot spot data, which I am happy with! I do like this machine, it works me hard! In the beginning it was hard so I only had it at around 2 resistance,but after a month I am up to a 8 resistance!

Absolutely love the M9! I use this everyday for interval training and long cardio sessions. It's great workout and for someone like me who does Jiu Jitsu, this has been a great addition to my training regime. Putting it together was quick and easy. There is a video available on YouTube that goes through set up step by step. I also have the M9 in the garage and that's pretty far from my router. I got a wifi extender and problem solved! No regrets at all over here!

I use Max Trainer for low impact aerobic training. I also use it when it's too hot to exercise outside, and will use it in the winter when ice makes outdoor training difficult. The M9 is smooth, easy to control, and gives a great workout. The audio is excellent and the touch screen visuals make training fun and go by quickly.

Great Aerobic exercise machine

The only machine I used was the elliptical at the gym. I am a mother of 2 with weak knees. I drive over 100 miles a day to and from work. I do not have time to go to the gym anymore. These 14 min workouts WORK. Every time I work out I feel stronger and it makes me sweat. The Max Trainer 9 is the best for the price out there. I have several friends that have the Max Trainer 9 it was highly recommended. They didn't lie when they said that I would love it. It's compact and it's gray for small spaces.

Canceled Gym Membership

I got this machine at home 3 weeks ago. I am very happy to have bought it. The machine gives flexibility in its programs to slowly and gradually build up strength and endurance. It is sturdy and has great build quality. Suggestions for design improvements: 1) Machine is a bit noisy. It would help if the noise levels can be reduced. 2) Software user-experience could be improved. For example, when following a video instructor during a workout, it would help to show the relevant info on the screen. Often the instructor asks to switch the resistance level and speed but due the high nose level, their words are missed. If we could read on the screen what they want us to do, it would be easy to follow. Also, the heart rate monitor values vary quite a bit during the workout. Another point is that I could not find a way to create a custom program where I can create own warm up and HIIT sessions. Currently you have to follow one of the programs offered which may not be ideal always.

I really like the machine. That it works the whole body. I really love that it's like a stairmaster, that's what I miss in the gym the most. And I definitely get that same burn in my legs and butt. The machine is built great. However, the screen that it comes with or the jrny membership, I'm not sure which one is the problem but it freezes in the middle of a workout. I did multiple manual exercises before signing up for the free year membership and the machine and screen worked fine. The minute I did an exercise using jrny the screen froze, one a few minutes into the exercise and then another 20 minutes in. You never know when it's going to happen and it is very frustrating. Because when it restarts you can't find the same workout video you were just playing. I would just beware about that when buying the machine. But other than that the machine itself is awesome!

#sweepstakes The actual exercise portion (mechanics) of the M9 works just fine and is sturdy. - but the console is extremely frustrating. If it gets disconnected or can't get internet that I can't workout. That is EXTREMELY frustrating and pretty much makes it worthless and I would not have purchased had I known this. - The actual console NEVER turns off. it stays on 24/7. I have to either unplug the power cord or manually click "logout". which is also extremely frustrating, because then everytime I want to use it, I have to enter my full email and password to use the darn thing.

I would not buy this again

I want to give the M9 five stars, but the resistance stopped working after one month of use. I now have to wait weeks for a replacement part and a technician. Additionally, the console regularly shuts off or reboots mid-workout. It's a great machine when it's working, but overall I'd give it a junk rating given that I've experienced so many problems after just one month of use.
