We drink a lot of tea and drip coffee in our household. This is our 2nd Breville kettle. I bought a cheaper kettle that had variable temperature choices for different teas, a pretty blue light and clear glass kettle but it dribbled all over when pouring and was cheaply made. We haven't even had it a year and are already replacing it with a new quality Breville kettle which I am certain will last for years as did our last one.

When I had a problem with my original soft top kettle, Breville's customers service was terrific, and even though my warranty had expired replaced my kettle as a one time goodwill gesture.               The customer service was exemplary, and I can't overstate how good they were. It's a great shame other manufactures don't follow their lead in customer care............especially Kitchen Aid which is the worst in the business!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Simple.  Nice handle, Lite.

Simple yet fancy.

I like that it's for both left and right handed users with a sight glass on both sides. It has a good range of levels from a minimum of 2 cups to a maximum of 7 cups.
It appears to boil a few seconds too long before the auto shutoff trips and I often turn it off by hand; the water temp at auto shutoff averages around 223F.
I noticed that the exterior metal gets hot, approx. 107F, stays hot for a long time though the handle and base stay cool.

Better than most

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an identical replacement for my previous kettle. It has a smooth design that boils reasonably quickly and pours easily. 
My only complaint is that the outside stainless steel surface has smears that I cannot clean properly.

A good quality kettle.

I had actually purchased this kettle some years ago but noticed that it was missing as being registered in my Breville account; I decided to do so and was asked to do this review. It is very well made and holds 1.7L of water. We use filtered water so we have not noticed much scale buildup, but it will occur over time. It heats very quickly with an automatic shutoff. It sits on a power base and is easily removed to pour into a teapot or other cooking device. It "dings" when boiled and shuts off automatically when removed from the base. There is a small screen filter at the spout which should be cleaned every now and then; we often forget it is there. Recommended.

A very good kettle

Works great, but it keeps squeezing when in use.

This is a warranty replacement as the previous kettle only lasted 7 months. While their design is aesthetically pleasing, the product is garbage.
