[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased at a local HD store.  Put it together by myself with no issues.  It took about 1 1/2 hours without rushing through. Instructions were thorough enough, but I did refer to Brinley's assembly video on their website a couple of times.  All parts were present and it went together smoothly.  After assembly, I noticed that the left side spoons were about 1/2-3/4 inch higher than the spoons on the right.  Double checked instructions to see if I missed something, but all was assembled correctly.  I contacted Brinley and spoke with Steve.  He requested pictures, and he was in agreement that it was assembled correctly.  He felt that the culprit was the lever handle hole not being cut properly during manufacturing and not lining up with the axle.  He immediately ordered a new handle, and axle just in case, and it shipped the following day.  I swapped the handle and the issue was fixed. GREAT customer service.   I loaded the tray with about 120 lbs. and attached the unit to my lawn tractor.  It proceeded to pull plugs approx. 3 inches long on a semi-moist lawn.  I was impressed! I was going to try different weight combos, but I felt that the plugs were adequate.   One issue that I had, which was entirely on me and my failure to re-read the instructions, was the leveling of the tray. It calls for leveling from front to back (or back to front, your pick), and NOT from side to side, when attached to the rear of the tractor.  The hitch point on my tractor sits low, so I used about a dozen flat washers over my hitch hole to increase the height of the front of the unit.  Worked like a charm.  Easy cleanup after use with a garden hose. I highly recommend this thing, especially since it paid for itself after one use. I have about 3/4 acre, and this thing handled it with ease.  It seems well-built, and will hopefully last for years and years.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and put it together the same day in about 2 hours. I actually used it yesterday 10/5, and I was pleasantly surprised that it pulled up 2.5" -3"   plugs.  Also, I was not exhausted, towing the unit around the yard with my z turn. Hopefully I'll be able to use this to aerate throughout the year to allow for oxygen and water to the roots. 
  I also read the other reviews and made sure to level the box of the unit while attached to my z turn before using. I'll have to wait and see how it holds up under my uneven terrain. Seems sturdy enough but time will tell.

NEEDED TOOL

It took a while to put together.  Had to buy a hitch for our lawn tractor (club cadet) because to level Aerator for adding weight there wasn't enough level length on the Aerator.  Used after a light rain. Plugs came out great after adjusting how much weight we put on (had too much to start with). Easy to cleanup with hose after using.

Great little piece of Equipment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome unit.  Last year we had a professional aerate the yards, left large holes and huge plugs all over the lawn looked like a mess for weeks till they broke down.  This year I decided to try doing it myself and purchased the Binly Aerator Plug. HELL yes I was impressed works like a charm on the back of he lawn tractor, nice even holes throughout the lawns smaller plugs that disappeared (broke down) within a day or two and lawn looks 100 % better than ever before.  Neighbors are amazed of the difference in lawn thickness and how green it became and how all the weeds seemed to be chocked out.  Got this unit on sale which made it a win - win for us.  Great product wouldn't be without it now, don't pass it up if your thinking of it.  don't think act now.  Thanks for an awesome product that WORKS!

BRINLY PLUG AERATOR BEST OF THE BEST

Bought this in late summer with plans of doing an autumn aeration and over seed. Assembly was a snap, took about 20 minutes. Set up on my John Deere lawn tractor was quick and easy. 
Watered the lawn earlier in the day, loaded the aerator with two blocks, pulled at about 3mph, and the plugs were coming out 3” consistently! In the back 40 where the soil was more compacted the plug depth was not as deep but still penetrating. Another aeration in spring and I'm sure I'll get better results. 
This thing is a champ and now all of my neighbors have borrowed it for their acre lots.

Better than I thought

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this aerator to do my lawn and in-laws lawn figuring it was much cheaper than renting a gas powered aerator. I wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised with the results.I just happened to have 4 bags of fertilizer on hand which gave meet a total of 180 lbs of weight which worked out perfectly.  My lawn was a little dry so I watered the night before and the spots that received more water definitely had better results. All plugs removed were in the one inch to two and a half inch range.

Worked great!

Easy to assemble but best to have a helper. Worked great . Addes three large concrete blocks to pan and all went well. Pulled it using a John Deere Gator CX. Only issue was instructions said to level the bar to the vehicle, including garden tractors/mowers but this is impossible due to low hitch locations on most homeowner lawn equipement. Called tech service and they said that would no be an issue and it was not. Great price and worked well with our 15,000 sq ft yard with many flower beds and other "obstructions". Easy to back up following directions.

Works Great!

I have about half acre. Pulled this with a John Deere S120 lawn tractor.  Aeration cores were good. Nice job on the yard.  My only issue was connection to the JD.   Direct connection to tractor was about 4 inches too low to keep the trailer level.  I used a carriage bolt with a few nuts and flat washers to raise the connection level.  Got the job done, but bent the carriage bolt enough that I had to hack saw it to get it off.  Back to the drawing board on this,  but otherwise did a good job on the lawn.

Lawn Aeration

Bought this aerator but haven't been able to use it much since it hasn't rained a lot.  Seems solid, easy to assemble, just takes a little time.  Had issues with trying to tighten the pin that holds the handle. Watched a video and still can't get it??

Solid

Used once this fall to aerate before I overseeded my lawn. Unit worked very well and pulled well behind my tractor. Would recommend to others and am looking forward to using it again.

40” Plug Aerator

I bought this on Easter and followed the directions in putting it together. After using once it broke apart and was all bent. Had to return it. Before it broke apart it was doing a decent job. Very disappointed.
