Chicks

This is my second one. It is the safest brooder on the market. Won't ever go back to heat lamps or other heaters. I've tried a lot of them. This is second to none.

My chicks (18 egg chickens and 4 guineas) are a week old now. I have them out in a brood box inside the chicken coop. We have had two nights down in the 20s (F), a few days that havent made it over low 40s, and all the chicks are perfectly content. The directions say not to use this heating plate alone under 50 degrees F, but it seems like a few nights with frost and cool days doesn't bother them.

Its nice to not deal with adjusting a heating lamp, worrying about burning down the house, barn or chicken coop, and the chicks get to self regulate by zooming around in out from the brooder plate as they need to.

EcoGlow works and is suitable in some cooler temps

Received this the same day my new chicks arrived. 20 chicks fit under it perfectly. They say a happy chick is a quiet chick... I have hardly heard a peep from them. They are warm, fed, watered and very active.

This is the second of these that Ive bought and both are still going strong. Its much safer than heat lamps, uses less electricity and doesnt emit a light that could disturb the chicks or us. The chicks love to snuggle under it

I'll never use a heat lamp again

Perfect size for my 7 silkies. At first I didnt think it felt warm enough, I put a thermometer under it and only read 80 degrees. but my silkies seem to be ok with it if they are up against it. It's easy to adjust and safer than the light bulb heaters.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] overall its a great alternative to a heat lamp as long as the room the chicks are in isnt too cold. i thinknit will be best when they dont require as much heat

I was disappointed that the EcoGlow Chick Brooder didn't put out more heat .

I have NEVER had as many new chicks die overnight as this piece of literal trash caused last night. Fortunately, I had a couple heat lamps set up anyway but this thing did NOT keep them warm last night and I lost a THIRD of my new baby chicks.  I have raised HUNDREDS of chickens from babies and I have NEVER lost this many in a batch EVER.  I should have known it was going to be a disaster when the box arrived damaged, as well as the incubator I also purchased, ALSO in a damaged box.  

The incubator turned out to be a used item they sent me as new and it was a nightmare sending it back.  And now their garbage brooder has killed 9 of 32 baby chicks overnight and I am absolutely FURIOUS.

This thing is junk and killed 9 of 33 baby chicks
