Ease Of Installation

I bought these for its rapid humidity rise setting and after installing two professionally and following setting instructions, these turn on and off constantly (except when taking a shower!). I should have heeded the reviews. What a waste of time and money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Broan humidity wall sensor is great for any bathroom or room that has a fan.  The installation is straight-forward (need a neutral wire).  The sensor can be adjusted depending where in the room it is placed and also has an override switch so it can be turned on manually.

Great for the bathroom

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One huge problem we have when showing is the humidity since I enjoy very hot water. For protection against damage like mold we needed a humidity sensor that is reliable. BROAN NuTone was a wise choice. Their humidity sensor wall control was the one we chose. It installs easily into any decora style faceplate. It has a user-adjustable auto shutoff timer, LED indicator and manual operation mode. It'll also work with any ventilation fan so that makes it easy. You can set it from 20% to 80% relative humidity and it detects rising humidity fast to react quickly. This sensor is a game changer to combat destructive humidity.

this product doesn't work as advertised.  you could get the same end result by wiring your fan permanently on.  the people giving positive reviews are liars.  i bought two of these switches, and both act the same.

false triggers at any and all settings

I bought two of these as I thought they would be a great addition to our home.  Don't waste your money.  Kept them on auto with medium sensitivity as they were setup out of the box for the first few weeks and would occasionally have the exhaust fan, in both bathrooms, kick on randomly, sometimes in the middle of the night when no one had used the shower in hours, during winter, when humidity in the home was 40%.  Tweaked the settings and turned both switches off auto, down to low sensitivity, and set humidity level to 80%, it's highest level, and same thing.  The sensors take longer to kick on now because it takes longer to get to 80% during the morning showers, but they both, in separate bathrooms clear across the home, in the dead of winter with 45% indoor humidity, kick on in the middle of the night and wake me up from my sleep, necessitating me to get out of bed and manually shut them off.  I'm pulling both out this weekend, replacing with standard switches, and these are going in the trash.  Learned my lesson.  Stay away.

Great concept, failed execution

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My teenage boys share a bathroom and while cleaning it I noticed that their shower is starting to show mold. Suspecting that they weren't turning on the fan to get the moisture out of the bathroom, I asked them if they had been using the fan. Both of them admitted to frequently forgetting to turn the fan on. As a solution to that problem I had this humidity sensing sensor installed to automatically turn the fan on when moisture starts building in the room. I am happy to report that the mold problem has been taken care of and I am now installing one of these sensors in all of our bathrooms.

Can operate the fan automatically within the desired humidity range or manually with a preselected timer rage.
Installation requires a neutral wire.

Keep the moisture out of your bathroom

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy to install...Initially the unit would turn on sometimes for no apparent reason but after a day it seems that it has adjusted very well to detecting condensation in the bathroom. The sensors were also adjusted to the lowest sensitivity. Perhaps it takes a few takes for the QUE learning to take effect. Otherwise so far this unit is now working great.

Works great, senses humidity and automatically turns on the vent fan, auto shutoff when the humidity lowers back down. keeps mirrors from fogging up and dries bath towels faster.
