[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this fan motor for my bathroom vent. it was so easy to put in the replacement motor. it's quiet and just has a very light sound and the suction is great. very pleased with my purchase. in fact, I will probably order another and change out my other bathroom that makes a weird hum sound.

Works great! We were so relieved when we found out we could just replace the motor and not the whole fan box. This was exactly the part we needed and the sound level is pretty much the same as our old one. It was surprisingly simple to install.

Just what we needed

The replacement kit arrived on time and was an easy fix after installing and discovering the spindle was about 1/8” too long, hitting the metal framework and preventing it from turning. I used a hacksaw and now it is working beautifully.

Perfect but one thing

The motor and fan blade are fine if you reverse the mount position. Also it doesn't come with nuts so keep your old ones. My old fan mounted UNDER the mounting plate. The instructions show mounting the new fan ABOVE the mounting plate. That configuration doesn't fit in my application because it makes the shaft too long and the fan blade binds against the duct housing. So I unscrewed the torx mounting bolts, mounted the fan motor UNDER the mounting plate like the original, put the torx bolts back in, attached the motor to the mounting plate with my OLD nuts, press fit the fan blade onto the shaft, and put the mounting plate/fan assembly back into the ceiling fan box. It works great and saved me money.

It fits but you have to reverse it

This item BP27 does work to repair motor plate 688-D, but the mounting screws are pointing in the wrong direction. I was able to remove the mounting screws and put them through in the opposite direction using a T15 torx driver and just pass them through the other direction. Not an exact replacement for original motor but works fine.

It provides better and more quite airflow than the 30+ year old motor that was in my bathroom. But this should definitely come with mounting nuts. The old nuts had a different thread size, which meant a choice of another trip to the hardware store or waiting for three weeks to get them through the mail.

I've purchased a nutone BP 27 to replace my 27-year-old bathroom fan. The shaft on the BP 27 is one and three-quarter inches, and I need one that has a shaft of one and 1/8 inch. I called customer service/tech support, and the guy said there is *no way* for him to look up motors by shaft length. He said it was **absolutely impossible** for him to find me a motor that has the shaft length I need. Could this possibly true? How do I find a motor that is exactly like the BP 27 but with a 1 and 1/8 inch shaft?
