Really happy with my bright and bouncy shoes. Out of the box and a 5km trail run done, and since done several longer runs. I like these for the extra grip off road.

Brooks Running

Great shoe, especially when you need good absorption because of weak knees or heavy weight. At the same time, the shoes are extremely light, comfortable and easy to run. However, positioning of your food while landing is key for maximum absorption of the shock.

Absorption!

My first pair of trail shoes and couldn't be happier! I've run in Brooks road shoes for a few years and recently moved to an area with direct access to trails. The Caldera provide the same fit/comfort as my road shoes but with the added reassurance of stability and grip on trail terrain. I'm delighted with them and the ability they are giving me to explore the local terrain.

I was super excited to get through to the last run in the couch 2 5k and awarded myself a new version of the Caldera,which was super comfortable and gave me wings!
Unfortunately my calves weren't ready for wings and I knackered my solgus muscles.
No running for me.

Super comfy

Use these for hiking foot pain has disappeared… great comfort and grip on wet rocks.

Very comfortable trail running shoes, excellent grip on all surfaces.

Trail run

Great Shoe no doubt. Feels like running on cloud, great design. I feel this shoe is little narrow and feels tight in the middle close to the foot arc. I used Solomon before and gave 10 of 10 to it , these ones are closer. Well done brooks.

Nice Shoes

Overall,  I like this shoe, even though I had to return it.
All the usual Brooks goodness is here from build construction,  colourway options and the usual little things like lace loop and gaiter attachment.
It was a well cushioned run, and runs fairly true to size (although to allow for hot feet a half size up might be  good call)... I would even say it was a comfy shoe straight out of the box, however,  my only issue (and the reason I swapped back to Cascadias) was no matter what I did I felt that on uneven, more technical ground or when you are running sideways across a slope, my fore foot was sliding sideways and it started to create sore spots. This could have just been my feet!? Maybe I hadn't laced them well enough? 
Overall a good shoe that I'd suggest to try as I was disappointed it didn't quite work for me.

Great shoe with all usual Brooks goodness, unfortunately just didn't quite work for me

As an ultra runner I had high hopes for the Caldera but I find it very disappointing. I could be a great long distance endurance and steady state shoe but unlike the Cascadia and the Catamount it is just not comfortable enough for me. This has to do with the combination of the rubber and the specific upper of the shoe in the toe box area which is just too hard and rings the blister alarm for me from 20k onwards. I tried it with different socks under different weather conditions and there is just something wrong with that configuration. Otherwise it is nice and roomy also for me who needs as a bit of a wider toebox. Cushioning is great and despite the size it does not feel too heavy. I am using it for hiking now but as  a running shoe it does not work for me. I suggest that you just take your new Glycerin Max and turn it into a trail runner - that would be a long distance trail machine. Hopefully on the next Caldera after you have gotten the toe box under control.

I wanted a trail shoe to compliment
my Glycerin GTS 21s. 
I had to go a full size up as the size12 toe box is narrow and shallow. 
As there is no 2e width available I was unable to get a good fit as the 13 was too long and unable to get a good lockdown. Very disappointed with the fit of this shoe - beware the sizing!
