Scanner is sleek and fits in small spaces.

Installation process is clear and easy to follow.

Can produce high-resolution scans, but may be inconsistent in performance.

We needed a scanner to transfer paper receipts and documents into digital format to preserve long-term, mostly for warranty and health records. The thermal receipts fade over time, so preserving them in digital format made a lot of sense.  I must say, I am extremely impressed with this Brother DSmobile DS-640scanner and the Kofax Paper Port software. Of course, if you are doing a lot of scanning, you would want to upgrade to a scanner that scans both sides simutaniously and faster, but if you are just needing to preserve records, this is a great model to have.

Except that I had a very difficult time getting it to work the first time, it been great. I was trying to follow the instructions for set up very carefully, But it didn't work. The help desk people were patient with me, so we got it set up okay.  Ive done several scans now; and Im pleased with the unit.

Sweet!  This little scanner is awesome.  Really easy to install, scans very quickly, good options for saving to a file.  Outstanding, highly recommended.

Great Little Scanner

Really good scanner in terms of quality and speed.  Two issues, though:

You cannot charge it unless you connect it to a computer, it won't charge when you connect to a charge brick plugged into the wall. They hype mobility in the ad copy for this, but the charging restraint seems like a step backward.

Even though the document feeder supports several paper sizes, the android  software app supports fewer options.  I scan digest sized (A5) things regularly and while there's a guide for the size on the scanner itself, that size is not available in the android app; therefore I have to crop every time after the scan.

Other than that, good and inexpensive.

Good scanner that has two design limitations, imo.

Software is clunky.   Scan of multiple items only displays the scan result after all items are scanned.   Useless when a re-scan is needed.

For something that is only a couple years old it's disgraceful that it will not operate on my Surface Pro computer running Windows 11. Isn't even recognized. It seems that a majority of brother scanners cannot be run on arm processors. Ridiculous for such a major company
