Setup process is generally straightforward.

Suitable for small workspaces with efficient printing capabilities.

Printer setup and operation are straightforward and efficient.

Can be seamless, but also prone to dropouts.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used this product for the past several years and it's the only printer that's performed so well and consistently in the last many decades of struggling with one printer after another. I was frustrated for years with printers that malfunctioned in one way or another and don't know how much money I wasted trying new ones until I found this particular Brother model. It has served me extremely well. If I had more patience, knowledge or time this one could most likely have been repaired but I had some immediate work that had to be out and felt that for the reasonable price I'd buy a new one.

walmart.com

I've had more than a few printers in my life and different brands but I do really like this one the best. It does more than I thought when I bought it. It works even better than I imagined but I've only had it for a few months. Hopefully it will last and I am very optimistic.

Works great!

I bought this printer because I was sick and tired of getting charged for, what I believe was excessive fees for the "Instant Ink" program that I had with HP. This brother machine is, for me, 100% better for everything; it hold twice as much paper and has plenty of ink. I cancelled the "Instant Ink" program and threw the HP printer away because, again, for me it was a money pit.

Saves me a fortune

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] very nice printer a little on the expensive side

One of them best printers I found easy to hook up to the Internet, easy to hook up to my phone easy to print from my phone anywhere

Very quick printer, scanner and fax. Takes a while to finish the setup but overall a great printer once you learn to use it. Also, a great value on ink!

Nice printer for all it can do

The printer came with no installation disc. I had to go online and download installation software which had incomplete instructions and required multiple tries to get it to make the machine work. Then I learned that the scan tool required an even different download. Then that download modified the print icon of my older printer which I am retaining, and then neither would scan. So I had to remove my prior printer from the computer, re-install the iPrint%26Scan software, and then re-load my other older printer. Then the new printer still would not scan. So then I find that I had to save a new screen created by the scan download to my task bar. Finally I have both printers scanning. Other than this fiasco, I like the new printer alot.

Great printer but needs better install instruction

Brother

I loved the printer until it grew a life of its own, Working fine for the 1st month, set up a breeze. But then, with the power off, nothing displayed in the window, it turns on and cycles. Then turns off. Brother cannot fix, this issue is new to them. I downloaded new drivers and firmware. Got worse. Now if turns it self on and will not stop this cycling. I tried to hit the power button, but did nothing. Display window was dim. All I could get out of Brother is a replacement, Now pls keep in mind I do not use it much and 4 months old. well in the fine print, all I could get is a refurb. Thank stinks. I have a new printer from a usage standpoint and they trade me a refurb. Who knows how much usage this refurb has. Once they fix it, Brother will have a new printer. Usage is barely noticeable. I had HP printers for yrs and my 1st Brother. All I can say is do not by this printer as it grows problems no one can fix. I am very disappointed in this printer. works great when it does not have a mind of its own.

J4535 is possessed

brother-usa.com

False advertising. Says its a duplex printer, but the feed tray does not do duplex. So if you want to duplex copy, you need load one sheet at a time. Not the end of the world, but it should have a giant warning that it is not real duplex.
