I make and sell stickers, and cutting them out has always left my hands sore and red!! This machine cuts out hundreds in minutes with precision. The only thing was that I wish you could set what exact measurement you want to enlarge the border size, but the preset measurements still works great. 10/10!

I took this machine from the box and started to use it!   Looked for an easy way to make stencils.  Worked well on vellum and printer paper.  Now onto card stock!

Perfect!  So simple, clear cuts

Got this to letter an enclosed trailer. Works great. Would have liked to get accessories with it. Spending a lot of time tracking them down independently.

Fun machine

So far, I've only cut card stock and vinyl, but I will try fabric soon.  I watched some You Tube tutorials before trying and they really helped.  This is  one fun machine for crafters!  I have so many projects planned.

I have another cutter from another company that uses cartridges. This cutter is so much fun. I've been watching videos on UT to get used to it. I love the ease in which it cuts. I will be making Christmas presents today.

I have been wanting one of these magical cutting machines. The fact you can scan your own image, photo or drawing is a crafters dream come true. For me, I have wanted it to cut appliqué from fabrics, and even quit blocks. My machine came with a rhinestone kit. I doubt that I will use this anytime soon, but I did activate the card. Need to educate self on how to use it. I registered online for the free Canvas. This is great, it gives you so many crafting ideas from box making, to quilting patterns. My model has wifi capabilities, and will require an activation card purchase in order to allow you to send over your design without the need of the USB cable (not included). This machine does not need to connect to your computer, you can have your designs moved easily enough via a thumb/flash drive, so If you want your ScanNCut operating in a different room than your computer, the flash drive is the way to go.
I ordered extra supplies. It comes with a standard mat, but I will be working mostly with fabric, so I am waiting on a high tack mat and a fabric support sheet. I also ordered pens, and a deep cut blade for thicker materials. It is important to always do a small test area. If you don't and the blade is too long you run the risk of ruining your mat like I did. Once set up my first project was scanning an old family photo, and getting it cut out in the shape of a heart. For a long time I worried I would get the wrong model, thing is, they each can pretty much do all the same things. For the wifi feature to work, you just need to purchase the activation card, if you want to do a 24" long project, you need the CM650. It comes wifi activated and capable of 12x24". Different models offer more free designs., and patterns. I give this machine 5- stars. It fits in a small area, which is great for me cause my space is limited.

The Quilter/Crafter Must Have Machine

This is awesome!  The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it did not come with a paperback owner's manual.  The manual is on a CD that you have to download onto your computer.  Also you have to buy an activation card if you want to go WiFi, which I don't need to do but at this price, Brother should include the WiFi code.  But the scan and cut works beautifully and with all the tutorials on youtube and the Brother site, it's really easy to figure out.  I only use to cut fabric for machine applique and this is a great way to cut out the templates.  Brother also has Scanncut software on the internet and this is very useful with lots of free projects.

Great Cutter!

This is a great machine for doing custom projects. You can create practically anything with this machine! I use mines mostly for bow and embellishment making. The only problem I have with this product is that the replacement mats do not last very long especially if you are using felt, and they are $20 and up for just 1 depending where you order it from. If you are cutting felt, I recommend you order the deep cut blade, also when ordering this specific blade you will need to order a deep blade cartridge also. If you are not familiar with using this type of machine, my best advice when cutting is to always start with a low setting to test whatever you are cutting to make sure you are not cutting too deep, which will cut the mat. Always remember to check your blade settings because it can be easy to forget if you are cutting paper then switching to fabric and this will cause you to cut through your mat also. The booklet that comes with the machine gives you recommended blade settings, but they are somewhat inaccurate and can vary much differently as time goes on and your blade becomes not as sharp. Sometimes on the screen, the lines on a images you scan to the machine may look uneven but it is just a glitch and will come out straight once you start cutting. The other downside to this machine is that no stores carry replacement parts for the machine. All accesories and replacements have to be ordered online. So, I recommend having one or two extras of blades, mats, and fabric stabilizing paper especially if you are using this for business purposes. Having to wait on materials can set you back in projects.

Great Machine! Expensive Accesories!

This machine has been a great addition to my craft room. Like any teacher we work at home. I am a preschool teacher and always making new games and art projects for my preschoolers. This machine has helped me cut pieces for art projects in minutes! 
                    
                    I do wish that the mats we better quality but it hasn't stopped me fom using my cm350.
                    
                    But is there any talk of developing an app for the scan and cut. I use my tablet for most of the designing and it difficult on the browser through the tablet.

I'm still learning how to use the machine so I can't really comment on the product itself.  I was disappointed that when I received it the Rhinestone Trial Kit was missing.  The company did put $15 back on my credit card to make up for this; however still disappointing.  You need to buy a activation card for the wifi-separately.  Not as easy to figure out the cloud as I had hoped, and not much in the way of projects with vinyl.  I wonder now if I should have bought a cricket since that is geared more for what I had in mind.  Not one to give up... I just need to learn this machine.

Cut N Scan

The quick start instructions over-simplified the initial use. I set the blade pressure according to the paper type chart; the blade made a 4" long slash through the cutting pad when I tried a pattern test. I tried scanning several stamped images. Some were cut; some weren't; some had small interior dots (eyes, spots on dog) cut out as well (which included holes in the cutting pad as well). I regret buying this.
