Can be strong and consistent, but also prone to drops and lag.

Ink cartridges have a short lifespan, requiring frequent replacements.

Produces rich and clear documents and photos.

Printer produces documents with deep, vibrant colors.

Setup and operation are easy to navigate.

They have changed the software. They no longer have the control center. So it is a bit harder to scan to email.  This is my 3rd on like this. I love them all. And they last a long time. The first one i bought was 20 some odd years ago.

Installed in a few minutes with Windows 11 and immediately worked with my Cell, my Pad and my computer. As usual Brother is very reliable and Walmart sold it at a competitive price

Reliable printer as usual from Brother

Easy setup; worked with no issues right out of the box.

This is the third Brother Laser printer I have purchased.  I have a mono all in one and a color printer. Both are excellent. I got this for a friend who had been using inkjet printers. She was complaining about the cost if ink that dries out when not in use.  The laser printers do not have this issue. I recommend the Brother laser printers to anyone who needs a printer

The print quality is excellent.  The only thing I don't like about this printer is that when the printed copy emerges from the printer it is always curled upward.  It doesn't come out flat.  Also, the small receiving tray that tilts up to catch the paper doesn't do its job very well.  With 8 1/2 x 11 paper, it doesn't quite reach the tray and it is sometimes difficult to take the printed piece out.  It would probably work OK with legal sized paper, but with the more common standard American paper it is, in my opinion, not well designed.  I also have a strange problem, the cause of which I haven't been able to determine.  The printer sometimes goes off line.  I have a different Brother printer, which will come online when this one goes offline, but both of them are never online at the same time.  I don't know if that is a computer problem and network problem or a printer problem.

A OK printer for a small business

The actual printer here is nice enough. The fact that you have to "subscribe" to the Brother spam emails simply to register the product is beyond ridiculous. There is simply no way "simply" register the product otherwise. Then they prompt you like three times and make you feel guilty for not subscribing to their newsletter ... where I'm sure they'll pound your email with "deals" to buy all the toner and paper supplies at inflated prices.
Then, after installation, it says there's a firmware update. Oh, and if you want to install updates, you have to be logged in with a username and password and create yet another password (with a gazillion letter/number/character combination) just to install it. It's a freaking printer, why all the top secret triple layer security to simply install and update the firmware. Big companies are out of control with how they want to constantly know every little thing about the consumer. If this wasn't such a pain to box back up and ship it back (I had it delivered by buying online) I would return this in a minute and never buy Brother again. Ridiculous.

Invasive and overreaching registration

Does not have USB port for scanning, had slow print speed, and only fair print clarity.

I've loved Brother products in the past, so that's why we decided to go with this one for office and hobby needs. Our machine is about 2 years old and already the fuser needs to be replaced. A fuser is half the cost of a new printer. If I replace the fuser, what's next to break? Beyond disappointed for the "throw-away" attitude of such a costly piece of equipment. The pros are a great Wi-Fi & app connection, fairly easy user interface, and the print speed is just fine. The cons are that the toner cartridges are dang expensive, and its cheap parts break really. My other standard MFC-L ink jet is over 10 years old and still is doing extremely well. Have had to replace the drum once besides the toner. That's it! Will be looking around for new possibilities, but not sure if I want to try another Brother printer.
