it's a nice all in one unit, great for my home office, doesn't take up a lot of room, and I like the fact that the fax part has a hand held hand set to use.

I love my new Brother printer! It was so easy to set up and produces great printed pages. I printed 112 pages easily first go. I also like the manual double sided feature which I used on a second manuscript. I've been without a printer for quite a while and was never happy with my previous one. I've had inkjet printers in the past that worked OK but a laser is such a luxury! Haven't used the scan and copy features yet, nor the fax.

I am sure this printer was good. 2 of us in household bought printer on same day.
This was the one we returned.

Nothing to complain about. It does the job and is easy to install. The instructions are clear.

Not happy

I thought I had everything working just fine. I had tested each operations. A few days later I tried to scan and it wouldn't work. It kept advising me to turn off the machine, check the connections and try again. Nothing seems to get it to scan again.

I thought a Laser printer would be the solution. Sometimes it works and sometimes it takes a long tech support session to get it up and running. Today the display indicates a paper jam. But when I open it, there is no paper jam. I guess it'll be less hassle to take a ride out to the copy center and just pay for copies. The display is really dark with poor contrast. Very hard to see. I'm trying to resist the temptation to heave it  into the trash at this point.
