<br><ul><li>1 year old plant stock. 2 root stock included: 1 Raspberry Heritage & 1 Blackberry Black Satin</li><li>Keep plants cool until planting and be careful that they do not dry out. Recommended to be planted in any well-drained soil</li><li>Dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending. Spread the roots out in the hole, so the crown is about 3 to 5 cm (1 to 2 in) below the soil surface</li><li>Plant spacing 3 to 4 feet apart. After planting, be sure to prune the plants back to about 10 to 15 cm (4 to 6 in) above the ground. This will encourage new growth</li><li>Fertilize the plants 2 to 3 weeks after planting and again in early summer. Remember to water frequently and not to let the plant dry out</li><li>Yearly plant maintenance: Cut back canes after they bear fruit. Remove weak canes in early spring, and prune plant to 4 to 5 feet in height. Plants will thrive in well-drained soil and will benefit from the addition of compost or topsoil. Support plant with a wire trellis. Perennial (comes back year after year)</li></ul>

This delicious duo pairs well with ice cream or in a smoothie. Also known as Rubus Fruticosus. Blackberries are a delightful and easily grown fruit that demand little attention. They are a rare treat when eaten fresh out of the hand or spooned over ice-cream. The berries can be made into delicious jams, preserves and pies that are packed with antioxidants. This variety produces heavy crops of large, firm, oblong black berries with a delicious & sweet flavor. These berries keep well once picked. The plant is heavy yielding, semi-erect and thornless. It’s self-pollinating, but will be more productive when planted with another variety. Highly disease resistant. Also known as: Rubus Idaeus. The Raspberry Heritage variety produces abundant crops of large, sweet, dark red berries.  Self-supporting, upright canes are hearty enough to grow in poor soil, but requires a well-drained site. Cold-hardy. Fall-bearing (everbearing) primocane with a summer crop. Floricane berries ripen in July. Primocane berries ripen in September through frost. Self-pollinating.

Purchased on May 14 and received on May 21 after the long weekend.. We planted the blackberry and raspberry plants the same day I received them  The raspberries started to grow very quickly and became very beautiful plants.  The blackberries never grew or ever showed any sign of life, just dried sticks in the soil. They received compost and water like the raspberries but nothing happened with them. Sorry tried to add pictures but kept getting errors and did follow your guidelines. I would only recommend the raspberries, the blackberries were a big disappointment.
