We purchased both the Barker Ranger and the wheel kit. The Barker Ranger is a tank of a carrier, and yet it folds down easily to carry in a SUV. We purchased the wheel kit as well, we go camping, we thought this would be an obvious upgrade for our four legged family member. We absolutely like our decision to purchase both quality products. What I would like see change, provide a bed mat for the carrier, it is surprising that it does not come with one. Change the plastic attachment that attaches the carrier to the bike, metal, aluminum? It feels as if we will need to purchase a replacement in the future. This is part of the carrier, I feel it is wrong that this part is ‘consumable' With every product it is easy to backseat quarterback, we Are very happy with the carrier and the wheels, our four legged family member is super happy to go on rides with her Pops. 😊

Smoother ride. My son doesn't seem to bounce around as much as with the smaller tires. It really does seem all-terrain and he's not as affected by gravel.

Bought the 16 in wheels for use in sand. The standard wheels are fine in beach sand for hauling light loads, but the wider, lower profile 16 inches work much better than the standard wheels when loaded down with children and equipment. The tread pattern provides both improved traction and greater ease in removing sand after the outing. Looking forward to using the trailer as a hauler on gravel paths.

Theses wheels are simply awesome looking. The trailer rolls well with them on it. Looking forward to testing them at the beach with nice load.

Awesome Wheels

Added a set to both our flatbed and nomad for bike camping. What a difference for off road riding, trailers roll with mush less resistance. We still use the standard tire set with our gravel road bikes, so this just adds to the diversity of these trailers. Easy on / off with push button hubs, interchangeable between trailers. I suggest adjusting your air pressure (just like on your bike) to match your trailer load weight, to much PSI and the trailer will bounce a little more over rocks and roots.

Must have with Fat Bike!

Order for our pet trailer to level it with our bikes..not a burley trailer but fit perfect for what we needed.

Wheel kit

Now able to snow bike with our little one. Tires+wheels are heavy but they work.  Better than any other manufacturer has done.

I bought this at the recommendation of Burley. I have a first generation Nomad. I'd now like to use it to pull both cargo and a small dog on rail-trails, gravel and forest roads. They don't offer suspension for the Nomad, but putting 3" wide tires on via the 16" Wheel Kit with the conversion axle was suggested as an option and running them at low pressure. The wheels are strong and good quality. I think they will suit my purpose well. Good purchase.

16" Wheel Kit

Purchased to go with a Burley Bee kids trailer that came with the 20” push button wheels.
The original 20" wheels are great on the road but a little bumpy for off road use.

Great to have the ability to change from road to trail wheels at the touch of a button. No problems fitting or rolling.

My Issue: I know I should have expected a difference in ride height but thought the extra rubber of the chunky tyres would make up the difference. Wrong. When fitted with the new 16"+ wheel kit the front of the trailer looks so low to the ground now. Any ruts or bigger roots and the the front of the trailer now catches :-(

I purchased this product to fit to my son's DoggyRide trailer which he uses to tow his service dog around in. Both the tire and the rim are cheap and particularly poor quality. The tire and rim are so poorly manufactured and designed that the tire bead will not seat on the rim. This means that the tire does not run centrally when fitted and it wobbles both laterally and transversely. I have visited three bike stores and nobody can get either of the tires to seat on the rims. I have tried soapy water, Windex and high pressure inflation. I have even heated the tires with a hair dryer to make the bead more pliable. Nothing works. I have found others with a similar problem on social media also.
I do not recommend this product.
