Nice Piece

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finish looks cheap. Would prefer to buy wood furniture assembled at a reasonable price instead, not pressed wood product I have to assemble. But it was well packed, came with all parts and good instructions.

I'm quite happy with this file cabinet. It looks lovely and the drawers move easily. Assembly was a challenge as I'm a 69 year old woman. But, I preserved!  The only thing I don't like is the channels that sit on the drawer for hanging files. They fall off so easily!  Did I miss something in the instructions?!?

Considering the price, this isn't too bad. The drawer bottoms are pretty thin and flimsy and probably won't support much weight if you wanted to use it for storing something other than the hanging files.

The instructions are pretty clear, just take your time when assembling. Only one part was mismarked.

This looks nice , but as far as quality for the price, would not recommend.

Poor Quality for Price

Despite being assembled correctly, the anti-tip mechanism will not engage properly, meaning that one door will not close completely. Also, it means it then tips if you look at it sideways. With the entire thing being composed of throw-away materials, there's no attempting to adjust it, as once a screw has been screwed and unscrewed, the hole is basically stripped. Also, the back is a super thin piece of cardboard/pressboard - it should be a sturdier material, which would provide stability to give weight to the back and ensure that all of the assembled pieces remain at 90 degrees. It may hold a few pieces of paper, but to load it up as a full file cabinet is not possible, given the materials. It is attractive from the front, so I gave it to my 15 year old to use as a nightstand. Worthless as a working file cabinet.
